  1. Yes you can. I do. I'm simply a fan because he plays great golf. You can judge but no one cares about what you think. The greatest athlete in a hundred years? I think Ali or Michael Jordan takes that title.
  2. The New Zealand SAS selection is pretty much the same as the Australian one. Once the kiwis pass selection there training is over in Aus or the UK. Same diff. I reckon our selection is harder, we have desert, mountain, rain forest, every form of terrain.
  3. I'm exactly like you. I used to view par 5's with absolute dread, I love the par 5s now. Even though I'm probably not past the hacker phase, I now know why I sliced that shot, or hooked another shot. Golf is fun when you can hit the ball in the air a good distance and be able to get the ball where you aimed at. Instead of just hoping it goes in the air so you don't look too stupid.
  4. HAHA! He needs to swallow his pride and asks for Butch's help again. Who knows what's going on, he doesn't look like he's even enjoying golf at all. I guess the pressure to pull up a W especially on this course might be a strain; as well as going through a divorce, you're coach bailing on you and the list goes on.
  5. It's getting frustrating. I think some of the haters are starting to feel for the guy now.
  6. Cheers for that. That's insane on the amount of elite forces you've got. I thought Delta was the equivalent of the SAS. In Australia I think we just have the SAS, SBS and the commandos. I know the SAS's specialty is counter terrorism but they're also well trained para troopers and mountaineers. I know George Bush loved our guys as they were our first boys to leave for Afghanistan and Iraq. So I'm guessing SOG is some Jason Bourne type stuff? Would love to meet some of these guys.
  7. I was talking with a mate about which special forces group is the best in the world, (we both thought it was the SAS) then we got all confused with all the different American special forces groups out there. But anyway does someone know what's the difference between The Green Berets Rangers SEALs Recon Marines and Delta Force? and which one is considered the best?
  8. Who cares? I'm sick of people caring about petty shiznit.
  9. Did you use a golf cart for all the rounds? That's still an epic amount of golf. I've played 27 walking, I would love to play 54 holes of golf but I'm short on funds.
  10. Swing, set, through... or beep, BEEP!, BEEEP....
  11. I've been asked to be in a threesome once... you think I would of jumped for joy, but when it came down to it I freaked out and said no. I guess I'm not one of those guys And no, women are not as shallow as men. I've known too many ugly dudes with hot chicks, mind you none of them were fat and they are all cool guys. You think this is bad you should hear what chicks say in a girls only conversation.
  12. Have to be Sergio Garcia. With the womens it would be Yani Tseng. Can't stand that follow through pose Michelle Wie does.
  13. I don't think so but good luck. Going to a 7.8 in less than a year is impressive. I say have some realistic goals first, getting your handicap down to scratch, play some tournament golf etc...
  14. Wow! Mate imagine if you could practice everyday? Nice work.
  15. Exactly the same. Give me my hybrid, 5,7,9, pitch, sand and putter. That's all I need atm.
  16. +1 on what shanks said. But yeah you're wearing maxfli dude, they're not of the same calibre. A couple of my mates are decked out in maxfli gear simply because they got one of those package deals at the golf shop. My bag and clubs are all tour specials I got for $300. Those package deals are great to start out with imo.
  17. Someone should of put in course management. When I get one in the woods I always go for the hero shot. Most of the time it doesn't work, but when I do get one through two trees onto the green I'm on a high for the whole round. I personally think the short game always wins. You don't need a steller long game to post in a good score. If you can hit off the tee 180m (200yards) straight every time you'll be an 18 handicap or under. I think anyone over a 18 handicap doesn't have consistent ball striking in there arsenal yet, regardless of there short and long game. Everyone looks at there score and says "If I only I didn't three putt there and I should of 1 putted on this hole I would of got so and so a score." But I'm speaking from a high handicappers perspective it's probably different in the single digit arena..
  18. LMFAO! I would of paid to see that.
  19. I'm easy about it too. I only care about my score. With newbies to the game I let them have mulligans, gimmes and a couple kicks out of the rough. Let them enjoy the game first and worry about the score later.
  20. Yeah that too.
  21. +100 The man can't win can he.
  22. Touche. Where I'm from if you dress all tour pro you better back it up with some game. That goes with any sport really.
  23. Exactly. If I didn't grade the hierarchy I would of used your words. Like others have said the average handicap for a regular golfer is a 16 or something. So if you're higher than that your below average. It doesn't mean you're a bad golfer just below the norm. I don't think I'm a bad golfer but I know I'm not good. Yet...
  24. Awesome. Are you going to be journaling your progress in this thread? If so subscribed.
  25. To me Professionals are A+ golfers. Scratch are grade A golfers. 1 - 5 are B+ 5 - 10 are B 10 - 18 are C grade any thing lower is below average. So I'm below average.
