I guess I tend to be more in the one swing, many clubs category. I feel like I have a little more consistency that way.

Snell simply makes a really nice premium ball at a not so premium price. I've played their MTB and MTB Black balls and really liked them. I ran out recently and tried their new line, the MTB Prime. Based on what I read, I went with the "X" version this time and wasn't as impressed, although it was still good. For whatever reason the current MTB Prime X doesn't seem to be as durable as what I've used from them in the past. Anyways, they're a great value at $30ish a dozen, although I think there are some equally as good values with the Maxfli Tour or Vice Pro/Pro Plus, although you have to buy 4 or 5 dozen to get the price to the $30ish per dozen range that Snell is for just one dozen.

I just picked up a new push cart. I have a Clicgear 4.0 already, which is great, but my bag sits a bit funny on it. My wife was in need of a push cart, so I gave her my Clicgear and I got a Sun Mountain PX4. Pushcart vs. pushcart, I think the Clicgear is probably a little better, but my bag fits perfect on the new one. All that said, I've been in a bit of a buying phase lately, so each day the answer could have been something different. In the last month I've also picked up a new bag, some hybrids, grips, rangefinder, shoes... I may have a problem...

Not that it means anything but Star, like PURE is based in Chandler, AZ. Only 10 miles apart. Kind of interesting to me me.

One thing that I do like is that they have no logo, so if you have it on a club with an adjustable hosel you don't have to realign it if you make an adjustment. I know that the logo not being centered doesn't matter to some, but it is something that would drive me nuts.

Really disappointed to see PURE go. They've been on every club I've used since I started this thread in 2010. I picked up 2 sets of my preferred grip (the jumbo Pure Wrap) when I found out about their situation so I'll be set for a long time. That being said, I did stumble across Star Grips (https://stargrip.com) and by the look of it they may be an alternative. The promote the same tapeless, air compressor installation. The few reviews I've seen on them have been really good and apparently they predate PURE. I'm not sure if the durability will be as good as what we've all come to expect from PURE, but the grips are also a good bit less money so they may not need to. They have both wrap and "tour velvet" style grips, but for those that like the DTX that PURE had, it doesn't seem like they have an option there.

I played last week in Chino Hills (Los Serranos Golf Club) and saw two hawks chasing each other. One of them had a snake that the other was trying to get.

My first graphite shafted driver was my first driver... a Callaway Great Big Bertha.

I still really like the MG Dynagrip Elite gloves. They're only $8 and to me feel like the premium gloves on the market.

I'm going to use this formula as a reason not to go on a diet and lose the weight I probably should... As long as I stay fat I should be able to swing the club faster.

It's funny how quickly things can change. At the beginning of 2022 I had joined a private club and was there for about 4 months. The reason that I left was that my mother in law passed and as she was the primary care giver for our kids, my wife and I made the decision for her to quit her job. At the time, it didn't make sense to continue paying for the membership and I resigned. Fast forward to the present and things are set up where I can play a bit more again and the boys are starting to show an interest. I wasn't sure that they'd go for it, but I emailed my club to see if they'd allow me to resume my membership without having to pay a new initiation fee or something like that, and to my surprise they agreed. I should be able to play an average of twice a week now without too much of an issue and now will have a home course. Hopefully with the increase in play and the consistency in location, I can complete this challenge.

Just added my round from yesterday. 7 GIRs predicted an 81 for me, but I shot 93. I also had 6 penalty strokes, so that hurt and there was one hole that I took 3 shots from a bunker that added to the chaos as well.

Obviously a bit late signing up for this one as half the year is gone, but I'm going to try it anyways as it seems like I'm going to be able to play a little bit more. I don't have a "home" course anymore as I'll be playing once every week or so, but at multiple different courses.I likely won't have more than 5 or 6 rounds at any particular course. I got off to a decent start yesterday and had 2 birdies on the Gary Player Course at Mission Hills (numbers 13 and 15). I don't think that I'll be able to get all 18 (or even 18 birdies, regardless of the hole) but it'll be fun to see what I can accomplish.

I voted play a course I already know and like. I don’t play as often as I’d like and I want to make sure when I do it’s somewhere good. The funny thing is I’m kind of in this situation on Wednesday and it ended up going the other way. I have to go out of town for work for a short meeting and a going to play golf afterward. I wanted to play Industry Hills since it’s not too far from there and I know I like the course. However a buddy is going to meet me down there and convinced me to play a new course (Los Serranos) instead. It better be good.

I think I'm in the it'd suck at first but I'd get used to it camp. I don't send a whole lot of texts or make calls on it and I still have a landline at home and work so I could still be reached that way. I'd still have my laptop to connect to the internet and do things like that, so I think I'd be ok. That being said, I really don't want to find out either.

I'm not sure about this. The fact that we all have taken the time to participate in a golf forum shows that we take this more serious than most. While we certainly have our share of high, mid, and low handicap players, I'd guess that the skill level of the average SandTrapper is greater than that of an average golfer.

2, 4, and 5 for me as well. Exactly what Bill said for 2 and 4 and I like trying out new equipment so 5 is awesome for me, even without thinking about reselling what I don't use. I could care less about free beer or John Daily, and while I'd love to go to see a Masters in person, I don't think I'd actually care to go every year.

Still not "normal" yet. We still have the things in the bottom of the cups and there are no ball washers or water coolers on the course. Some courses have the beverage cart going again, but not all of them.

I don't have any issues with the past champions playing until they're ready to give it up. Sometimes the may go on a bit longer than one might think they should but I feel that they've earned the right to do so.

I wouldn't mind going back to some kind of tracking system (I used to have a GG), but I don't want one that requires a watch unless it's my Apple Watch. After my extended layoff from golf, I've started to just leave my watch on when I play and I like that it tracks things like my steps while I'm on the course.

For me, I use the PW that is part of my iron set and then my gap (50°), sand (55°0, and lob (60°) are "regular" wedges (Edel). I've never been a big fan of the gap/sand/lob wedges that are a part of the iron set. I know there are some who have their 9 iron as the last iron in their set and then have a different PW.

Is the issue with Arccos just the size of the tags?

When the Eco Knits went on sale last week (buy one pair, get one pair free), I decided to jump on it (one pair in gray, one in black) as well as add on a pair of the OG Premium (white). Well, they finally arrived and I am super impressed with both models. Like many on the site, I've been a True fan since they came out. I've had a 2 pairs of the original, a pair of the Stealths, a couple of pairs of the Phoenix, the Classics, a pair of Protos and a couple of the Sensei. All of those were GREAT. Then came the down years; I had a pair of the True Motion, didn't like 'em. I received a pair of the Elements to review, and while they were decent, they had spikes and I never really wore them that much. In fact, over the last few years, if I was playing golf it was in a set of Ecco Bioms. I've known from others on the site that over the past few years True had righted the ship with the release of the OG and, at the time, the Outsider. Both shoes looked great, but I wasn't playing as much and there was no reason to jump on them. Now I'm playing more again and since the Ecco's are getting a bit old, it was time for some new shoes. First off, the Eco Knits just look great. They are super light and fit really well. I can see these becoming my go-to shoes, not just for golf, but for nearly anything. They also look to be super breathable, which considering the 110°+ temperatures out here will be really nice. The True OG Premium, are just that, premium. The leather on these is soft and supple and the feel is great. They are a bit heavier than I was anticipating, but still should be really nice. The OG Premiums will be especially nice for early morning rounds when there might be just a bit more moisture on the ground. I love that both models are zero-drop and extremely flexible (which my Ecco's aren't). The OGs have just a bit more room in the toe, but I don't feel like my feet are squeezed by Eco Knits either. Both models were initially a little tough to get on, but as they break in, that should become less and less of an issue. Anyways, now that these are here, I think I can finally retire my True Sensei. I've been using them since the end of 2012 and have kept them around simply because they were still a great option (they are much more breathable than my Ecco's for summer rounds). If anybody is on the fence about picking up a pair fo the new True shoes, I'd say, go for it.

Looks nice. I just got my own push cart (a Clicgear 4.0) and I love it. 2nd Swing has new ones in stock.
