I really don't like any of these suggestions, except maybe number 4, partially. This wouldn't only help juniors and seniors, but some of us who don't have enough time for another nine, or a whole round after school/work, getting off the course at the 3rd, 6th, 12th, or 15th holes would really help to stretch out a round from 9 to 15 or 0 to 12 holes.

My first ever par and birdie both came after drives hitting trees and landing in the fairway. Maybe not funny, but definitely strange and lucky!

Match A/S going into the eighteenth hole. Good first and second shots, third from the first cut... chunked it. Lost the hole by a stroke.

The Yankees/Rangers series should be really good, alot of scoring, and alot of close games. Each team really only has one consistently dominant pitcher, and each team has a lineup stacked from top to bottom with guys that can hurt you, especially now for the Yankees that Berkman remembered how to hit a ball. I'd expect it to go 4-2 or 4-3 in favor of the Yanks, just because I feel that the Yankees have a better chance beating Lee than the Rangers have of beating Sabathia, and whichever team figures the other's ace is going to have a huge advantage in the series.

When I line up putts, I use a combination of feel and reading. I'll originally line up the putt with the alignment marker on the line I think is best from green-level, and then when I'm standing over the putt, I'll usually make a little bit of adjustment with the putter to the point I feel comfortable with the line. Hope this helps.

Played at Green Meadows in Hudson, NH for the second straight day today. Shot 117 (62-55) on the Jungle. I felt I played much better than the score indicated, mostly because my short game was atrocious. If I had to guess, I would say it cost me 12-15 strokes. Tee shots were pretty consistent, my natural high cut, but the cuts started to get a little more exaggerated toward the end of the day, probably the result of playing 45 holes in two days and getting tired. Next weekend might be my last weekend of golf of the year, my goal is to shoot in the fifties both nines.

First time playing the back nine at Green Meadows (Jungle) in Hudson, NH today. On the par 4 17th, my first two shots had gone bad, duffed my third, and my fourth went over the green (all coming off and up-and-down on the par 3 16). My fifth shot, a chip about 20 yards to the pin, I hit thin and over the green AND a greenside bunker. I was so frustrated at this point, and didn't even take a practice swing at my sixth shot. Chipped over the bunker, hit the rough on a downslope and rolled to a foot from the pin. Would have been one of best shots of my life if I didn't get a 7 on the hole.

I would say ditch the 56* and get a 60*. I use a 52* and 60* and really don't feel the need for anything in between. Then get a hybrid somewhere in the ballpark of 19*, but expect to take a little bit of time getting used to it.

Lee Westwood chooses NOT to be PGA Tour member in 2011
nhwoj replied to Frank-0-Sport's topic in Tour Talk
I have to disagree. This is really not to big of a loss for the PGA . What matters to the PGA brass is money, and players with no personality or flare (Westwood) don't bring in money. He'll still be at all the majors, so that's really what matters, having the best players competing in the best tournaments. -
63-59-65 today at Green Meadow in Hudson, NH. I'd say an average score for me right now is about a 60, so I didn't play awful, considering I'm still coming back from ankle surgery. Playing again tomorrow hoping to shoot both rounds in the 50s at the same course.

I believe some of the problems may come from the fact that his drives really rely on club control and feel, which is why he chokes down. I believe the thumb bothering him may be what's keeping him from being effective. Give him a year and he'll be back.

The Callaway Fusions are pretty bad, the back is just stupid.

Probably played about 25 rounds this year at 3 courses. 15-year-old transportation has its limits...

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it.

The only thing on tour stranger than Rickie Fowler's fashion... his swing!!! Alright, Daly's pant's and Furyk's swing are pretty scary too, but for sake of the joke, I had to... you get what I'm saying.

Here in New Hampshire the wind can get pretty terrible this last month of the season, and knowing how to play the ball back in your stance can shave off a stroke here and there. Problem is, I feel the most comfortable playing the ball a little forward, increasing as I get to the long irons. Does anyone have any tips for playing the back in your stance, mentally or swing-wise?

That's suprising, I ordered a couple used AP1's from them two weeks ago. The clubs fit the condition description perfectly. Sorry you got shafted (excuse the pun). Plus they have fast delivery, and some great deals. Wish I had known about that 25% lefties coupon, even if it only was 50 bucks that I spent (that's with shipping included... like I said, great deals).

Last weekend I took one about a foot or so long, and about an inch and a half deep with my 4 iron. In wet conditions, our divots were pretty big all day, but this one was the granddaddy of them all. Needless to say, I did not reach the green.

At one point in June, I believe, I played back-to-back 18 hole rounds Saturday-Sunday in a constant rain. My golfaholism forced me to, but I think I've learned a lesson. Never, ever, ever, golf in the rain more than once a month. It's just not fun, and a waste of money. If you haven't gotten out in a few weeks, be my guest, but otherwise, stay away from the rain. Wet courses, on the other hand, don't quite bother me as much. The only thing that annoys me is that the rough feels like hitting a ball through a pillow when it's wet, and that's a score-killer.

In all seriousness, I'm sure some rich guy back in the day got a snazzy nickname of some sort of animal and decided to have a headcover made for himself. Or maybe it's just that nothing takes the sting off a triple bogey more than a smiling golden retriever with your driver in its neck. Either one.

Trust me, as a fifteen year old there's nothing more annoying than overbearing parents. What you're doing sounds like a great way to build a relationship with your son (you probably could give my dad a few tips). We as kids feel so much less pressure and stress when our parents aren't yelling and nagging. I think some parents think yelling and arguing is the only way to ingrain good behavior into their kids, but in my experiences it can be one of the worst. Calm talks can do just as much good in a much less stressful manner, and when we're not stressed, we're happy, and much more apt to have conversations and spent time together. Sounds like what you're doing is great, keep up the good work, dad.

I played with a guy who used one of these this past weekend, and was pretty perplexed by the design. Has anyone else here ever seen one, or does anyone else here have one? I'm curious to know how it feels to putt with. Also wondering if there's any benefits to using one, or if it's just a clever (or not-so-clever) advertising ploy. Here's a pic (sorry it's so huge, I couldn't figure out how to shrink it):

This is ridiculous. His win at the Open in 2007 was wonderful, outdueling Sergio to win in a playoff at a very tough Carnoustie course. And even if it is possible to luck into a major, two in the same year, three in two years? I don't think so. Paddy found his groove those two years and got hot, his wins had nothing to do with luck.

Very well put. Most of my friends, myself included, don't pay much attention to the exact rules during rounds. I think if you follow the basics (play the ball as it lies, replay balls hit O.B., no grounding your club in a bunker, etc.) you can play a very fair round of golf. But if it's just a round for fun, nobody else is gonna care what you, so following rules is all up to you.
