My buddy just shot +1: 17 pars and a bogey. He was pissed that he missed all of his birdie putts (strange, he's a pretty good putter normally) including a bunch of 6 footers.

I was thinking...18 pars would have been bizarre. Anyone done it or seen it? What does it feel like? Great for shooting par, or bummed because one putt and you are under par?

Never even done it on 9. If I did it I'd definitely keep the card though. 18 straight pars is so impossibly average. It's like when people ask store clerks for "extra-medium" sized clothes just to be smart-asses.

I saw someone put up straight 7's on the back 9 of a course a few years ago though. Respectable in its own right I think.

Vijay nearly did it a few years back, but birdied 18 (a par 5). The commentators suggested that it would be tough mentally to want to make his 5-footer for birdie on the last ... quite possibly one of the dumbest things I've ever heard from the TV guys.

I parred through my back nine one evening this summer -- needing to play 3 holes on the front for a full 18 (rain had interrupted me earlier), I parred those, too. Twelve pars -- not bad for one night's work.

I played with a guy in a college match that did it. He hit the ball great but his putting was horrid he missed probably 10 birdie putts inside 20 feet.

Sure. I've seen it a bunch of times.

Never done it myself, but that's just because I pretty much suck at this game!

Never done or seen, would be very impressive. I did read a few years back that a goal for the average golfer would be to have 18 par putts, even if they were long ones, I actually was able to achieve that this spring for the first time ever.

I've done it once. And actually it wasn't very satisfying. It was an ugly round with a lot of up and downs. No substantial puts made. I've had more fun shooting 75 with a few + holes and a few - holes.

Hey a couple of years ago I was playing in an amateur 36 hole tournament at a local club. I started with a nice par on the first, then made a bogey 5 up the second. I then made par on the next 25 holes. I finished one under par in total for 36 holes but I will always remeber that crazy run of pars!

Chuck Norris can. He was the original man who made almost every golf course par 72.

He let Mr. T have some par 73 because he felt bad beating him by one stroke.

I have had 6 pars, 6 birdies, and 6 bogeys. It was in a tournament, and I still have the card.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

Ive never seen it or done it. My even par rounds have always consisted of a couple bogeys and birdies. I can imagine 18 strait pars is about one of the most mentally exhusting rounds one could have..lol.

I have gone on long par runs... 6-7 holes maybe, but I don't think I've ever even made 9 on one side... I would welcome 18 of them, but my ONLY even par round in my life had 3 birdies and 3 bogeys.
