It does, kind of. You won't see weird lopsided ratings like 76.5/112 or 67.5/148. The slope is not worth worrying about in choosing tees. I always have score based goals relative to par and rating, so much I expect different results per side. How well or not I play is measured against expectations relative to that. If the 9 hole rating ong the 35 side of a 71 is 33 and I shoot 39 I don't feel good about it no matter what the distance is.

In that case 117 slope is probably a regulation course, in which case 5400 yards is kind of short for a male player?

What's the name of the course, it might be in the USGA database?

the course is moor downs in waukesha wi- link here... https://ncrdb.usga.org/NCRDB/courseTeeInfo.aspx?CourseID=45577

I can't go any farther back than they let me-so i joke about playing from the tips. :)

The 117 might the ladies ratings from the "tips", the 31.7/105 might be the rating for men. The par rating is 68 so it makes sense that the CR is about 63.4. The most difficult hole is the 417 yard par 4. A scratch golfer would typically shoot 4 under par. The differential for the 85 is 21.6, and 89 is 25.6. In both cases it looks like you would break 100 on a 72/113 rated course.

BTW, did I mention that I broke par at Rivendell?

Some elves let me borrow some Mithral clubs, and wouldn't you know it they're almost all left handed!

It was a phenomenal round with at least six 800 yard drives which shortened the shorter 12,000 yard course to something manageable for someone with my skill level. My playing partners had been playing the game for only 1200 years, but knew enough to teach me the ropes so to speak. . .
