She's only 26, won six LPGA Tournaments in '06, eight LPGA Tournaments in '07 and is off to a great start in '08 (leads HSBC by 7 strokes after two rounds in her first outing of the year).

No. We'll have to see. There's a lot of talent already out there, and more coming up. I won't pass judgment until after this year's over.

No, Tiger was 20 or 21 when he won his first Masters and it's been all Tiger since then. The kid has dominated since got on the scene and he's never looked back. Lorena is needs to keep this pace going for at least two or three more years to be considered the Tiger of the LPGA. Right now I think compared to Tigers she is still a flash in the pan. Tiger has ran the show for ten years now and Lorena only two. Combine that with the fact that she doesn't have the name recognition that Tiger does. While that's not fair to compare PGA and LPGA in terms of status, Anika was at least a well known name and face. Lorena isn't there yet.

can't really say till she beats all the records Annika broke/holds.

While Annika is no longer number 1 - she is the closest comparison to Master Woods (at the moment)

I'd like to second this.

another thing about tiger and lorena is that they are both incredibly generous as humanitarians which says a whole lot more about them than trying to put a ball in a little hole

lorena leads by 8 shots (-16) after three rounds, was off a little bit with her swing, only shot a 69

Lorena is very good. I haven't seen her mere presence cause other players to make a lot of mental mistakes. I would say she is currently the best player, but more like Price, Norman or Faldo of the past.

Annika and before her Nancy Lopez were more like Tiger or Nicklaus, people who so intimidated the field so much that other players think they have to post a 59 to win.

This poll is like the one asking if Wie is the tiger of the LPGA two years ago. She may only be the queen for a year or too.

As was said, time will tell. She will have to go through a few more seasons like last year to really make comparisons. Annika was the closest, but here days seem to be fading a bit - but then again - she could bounce back and regain what she had. She certainly has the work ethic to do so. Ochoa has it as well - we'll see how it goes.

She's only won 1 major and struggled to hold leads in majors . . . can't compare with Tiger at all.

I thought this was a rhetorical question. Check her results at any age against Nancy Lopez. She's not that special.

I say she has to play a little longer to show get tiger-like respect. Its not about winning its winning consistently over the long term

. . .She seems to have that killer instinct and is very composed on the course. Even when she fell apart on the last hole of a tournament last year, she was in control. . .even if she knew she blew it! She is young (26) and for a small woman player, hits the ball a mile. I like her, and thinks she is good for the tour. In the looks department she isn't a Gulbis or Creamer but looks great nonetheless! When you play good and look good. . .its all good! I'm still trying to get at least one of those right!!!

Lorena is another that is into physical fitness and was featured in the Runner Magazine this month. She trains year round, heavier in the off season and did a half marathon in 1:51 which puts her into a 8:30ish pace for 13.1 miles. That's not too shabby!
