Whats your favorite classic rock band/song?

My favorite band would be either Jimi Hendrix or Boston
&
My favorite song is Hotel California.

I'm just curious because I wanted to put some more Classic Rock on my iPod.

I don't know if I am old enough to vote on classics but my favorite song but not band is Juke box Hero by Foreigner. I might be bias because my high school band covered it at a talent show. no big deal

I DJ in a topless bar, so picking a favorite is difficult. . .I like so much music, especially as I get older, I notice the music I really enjoy is older as well.

Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, The Stones, Hendrix, Genesis (pre We Can't Dance), Marley, Foghat, The Dead, The Doobies, Grand Funk Railroad. . .there are so many!!! I could go on forever. OH YEAH, I love The Police, how could I forget them.

Songs I couldn't do without. . .Tea For One (Zeppelin), You Can't Always Get What You Want (Stones), In the Air Tonight (Phil C.), Can't You See (Marshall Tucker). . .etc, etc, etc. . .... .. .... ...... . . . . .

"More Than a Feeling" by Boston immediately comes to mind. As well as anything by Skynard and CCR.
"Shouldn't you be going faster? I mean, you're doing 40 in a 65..."

Ballad of Curtis Lowe
Gimme Back My Bullets

The Allman Brothers -
Midnight Rider
Jessica
Whipping Post
Rambling Man

Black Sabbath -

Honestly there are way to many to name.

Bands that are listened to frequently, and I do mean frequently.
The Beatles :: The Who :: Led Zeppelin :: Rolling Stones :: The Doors :: The Eagles :: Moody Blues :: Cream :: ZZ Top :: Jimi Hendrix :: Blue Oyster Cult :: Queen :: CCR :: Steve Miller Band :: Steppenwolf :: Doobie Brothers :: Chicago :: Rush :: Grand Funk Railroad ::

I think it would be quicker to say the whole Genre is pretty much covered by myself. I am a fan of all music and at the age of 18 there will hopefully be alot more to experience.

Lots of great classic rock out there!

I always turn off the radio when I hear anything by Foreigner, Styx, Toto, Kansas and post Peter Gabriel Genesis. IMHO the Rock-n-Roll equivalents of TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesday and Applebees.

Thank God for Sirius Radio - Buzzsaw Channel 19

I DJ in a topless bar,

Whoa, can I be your best friend? I was in Indianapolis for the US Grand Prix last year, and on a few of the three nights we were they (alright, all three nights) we found ourselves in strip clubs. I love Midwest girls!

Back on topic My Dad is a huge Who fan. Needless to say I do enjoy there music. There was a special running on VH1 last year on the history of the Who that introduce my to their early early stuff, produced under the name The High Numbers. It was more mod than classic rock, but good good stuff. The Doors are the obvious stand-by. That American Woman song by The Guess Who was another of my dad's favorites. That's a rockin' song. Pink Floyd tracks used to scare the crap out of me, still kinda do.

Fool for your loving Whitesnake

You just drove a stake through my heart. This is what I listened to in High School and now they are classic rock. I am old. I have actually seen all three of them in concert. Including Maiden just last year. I saw Def Lepard a few times as well. The Van Halen one brings up another question, but I will save it for it's own thread.

For me classic rock starts with The Who. Last Summer I picked up a CD called the Who Essentials. It was a 2 disc set that was absolutely loaded with great songs. Babba O'Riely might be the greatest song ever. Behind Blue Eyes is also great. The Stones are always quality. OK...This is a little scary. As I am typing this, Behind Blue Eyes just came on XM on the Classic Rock Station. Twilight Zone Stuff if you ask me. My buddy in college ruined Pink Floyd for me. He brought one tape, The Wall, on a weekend long camping trip. We could not get any radio signal where we were so he played it over and over. He also kept singing one line the whole weekend. "Tell me is something alluding you sunshine. Is this not what you expected to see." To this day I can still hear it. There is so much great stuff that I could go on all day.
