I have a lot of different grips on my clubs.
Srixon Lamkin Crosslines (ribbed) on my irons
Titleist Golf Pride Tour Velvet Full Cords (round) on my wedges
Snake Eyes Dual Traction (round) on the woods and hybrids.

The ribbed grips on the irons feel a little weird, but I was hitting them extremely well the first time out so I'm not going to mess with them just yet.

not in the northern climes :( they tend to get slightly hard under 50° -- or so I've noticed.

Have tried many including the Winn shown in original post. (imo-they get a little slick in warm weather) Always come back to Golfpride Tour Velvets. -mark

Really?

I live in the same state as you and I swear by them, played them in 30* temps last November at the Legends, while the weren't as soft as they would be at 85*, I don't think they were any harder than any other rubber grip.

I use Golf Pride Tour Wraps on every club. I've thought about trying a Winn like that one in the original post. It looks great, but I've normally found those Winn wraps a little soft for me.

I use these... the Winn G8 Rave midsize (blue)...

http://www.winngrips.com/thegrips/wood_iron_grips.html

I had these on my old set and loved them. Then my new set came with Tour Velvets on them, so I had my driver, 3-w, and wedges regripped with Tour Velvets. After 20 rounds on them I found they are way to hard on my hands. I put the Winns back on just the other day. I don't like most wraps... like the OP's pic - they just seem too soft to me. That's why I really like this Winn... firm enough to really feel the club, but easy on the hands and plenty tacky.

I think Golf Pride grips are to grips what Titleist golf balls are to balls. Golf Pride over whelms the market from what I see. Rarely do OEMs use anything but GPs. I use the Tour Velvet Full Cord rounds. To me the only other grip maker of any consequence is Winn, but they wear out way too fast for regular use.

Golf Pride Tour Velvet on the irons & wedges. Stock as per Titleist and very happy with them. 3 wood (and old Wilson I had lying about) was recently re-gripped with the same. 5 wood is needing re-gripped. I think I will try the Golf Pride multi-compound to see how it goes as I hear a lot of good things about it

Well... in my eyes there are many other great balls besides Titleist, but people pass them up because of the name... You can't honestly tell me that there aren't numerous good balls out there.

So, do people also just pass up many other good grips because of the name?

I absolutely love Golf Pride Tour Velvet (58 round). +1/32", as I apparently have long fingers. I had these on all long-game clubs except my irons (never re-griped starter set) - wedges and woods/hybrids (default grip for Cobra clubs, it seems). When I ordered my new Mizunos, I ordered the "Mizuno" M-21 (58 round), which I am to believe is a similar grip except it says Mizuno on it.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

i think i'm going to try those multi compound golf prides on my next set of irons...

green for the 3-9 irons and then orange for the PW, SW & LW.

What would you guys recommend for a driver/wood grip? i'm looking for something more synthetic and softer than the rubber golf prides for these.

Just got my new irons last week and I had them install Lamkin Crossline Cords (1/32 over). I had Winn DSi's on my old irons and still have them on my driver, 3wood and hybrid. Not sure how I like them yet, but they seem to be ok. I really liked the DSi's so I might go back to those.

As for the GP Multi Compounds, I had them before the DSi's. I really liked them too, but they didn't like me. After using them for awhile, I developed almost an arthritic condition in my hands. Fingers were always sore and I'd even wake up in the middle of the night with them hurting. All I could think of was the grips so I switched them out. Bingo....no finger pain since. Yeah, it sucks getting old! But I did like them....

Seriously?

what about Lamkin, I'm pretty confident they're beating up on Winn and probably a lot closer to Golf Pride than you think...

Mine are custom made from black rhino skin illegally poached in Africa. I sent my shafts over and the locals wrap them for me.
