Imagine the spin? You wouldn't need spin!

I don't know, 80 degrees may be overkill. Not sure how useful it would be. Practice with it and see if it would be useful.

Or you could not be a retard and just carry a 60 degree and open it as needed.
It's not hard to open up the face.

I can't even imagine what it would look like, haha. That'd be crazy having it for around the greens. It'd be an interesting club out of the bunker, I'd curious of the bounch of the club as well. How much does something like that go for and are they legal under the rules of the USGA?

Put it this way...

I have a 68* wedge to use for fun at the range. The farthest I can hit it is ~30 yards. 80* wedge would go about 5 yards. Not to mention, the 80* costs $100... 68* for $30 http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-68-Wedge-RIG...QQcmdZViewItem

to be completely honest I don't think I would like that at all, sure the back spin would be good but distance minimal. Personally I'd rather work on my 56 wedge more to get the closer shots and put a little more spin on it

You'd probably hit it 5 feet and suck it back 8.

The only thing an 80* wedge would be useful for is lobbing it over a twenty foot high chain link fence directly in front of you.

If you happen to play at a course that has twenty foot high chain link fences guarding the greens, I say get yourself this 80* wedge.

I would say go for it as long as:
A) it is cheap
B)you understand that it probably wont have much practical use.(unless you need to hit flop shots that go 80 feet in the air but only 15 feet in distance)

It can be a lot of fun to experiment with unique or older golf equipment. heck I own a persimmon driver and a set of 30 year old blades for this exact purpose.

In my freestyle:
Driver: 10.5* G5 with UST V2
F.W. wood: 16* retro raylor with Aldila HM-40 Tour Gold
Irons: i5 3-pw. Stiff cs lite shafts
Wedges: 8620 51*, 56*, and 60* Putter: classics 1 34""Life is tough. It's tougher if you're stupid." -John Wayne

Then why did Michelson add a 64 degree wedge to his bag ?

Perhaps the OP feels Phil is a "retard."

Besides, the Dr. Knockdown is rated 5 out of 5 !

Haha, according to the same website, Jack Hamm hits his 8 iron 260+ yards, and regularly hits over 400 yards with his driver. I can understand why he'd need an 80* wedge

Then why did Michelson add a 64 degree wedge to his bag ?

Because Dave Pelz told him to.

And we all know how great Dave is. (ex: S2S putting)
