Searched for this before posting, and couldn't find this thread, so I thought I'd ask. What's the toughest course you play in terms of rating and slope? the highest I've played was on the Pines Course at The International in Bolton, MA (company event). We played from the Championship Tees for a 74.7/136 (we shot a +4 in Scramble format, and came in 8th). The Tiger Tees on this course is 80.0/154! Bring your GPS, cuz you'll need it!

I believe it was the Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence, KS (I believe used to be public prior to 2005), slope is 145 which I assume is from the tips. Jay, can you help me out on this? Like, what is the slope from the second set of tees?

I believe this was a public course until a second course was opened in 2005. I'm not totally sure, I only played it twice (in 1979 and about 1983).
My Equipment:
Northwestern 3-, 5-, 7- and 9-wood;
Goldwin AVDP Irons (5-10 plus PW);
U.S. Golf 60 degree wedge;

I played from the tips at Bulle Rock(76.4/147) right after the LPGA Championship this year. Rough was still way up, greens were super slick, also the blacks are actually much further back than what the LPGAers played (7375 vs ~6900). Toughest setup I've ever played. Bogey was a good score that day.

I played Pheasant Run In Enid OK a couple years ago. It boasts 74.8/120 from the tips which is 7,424 yrds. I was alone so I played the tips, it was also windy(10-15mph) so I bet it played more like 7,600+ yards... just ridiculously long probably even by pro standards. Needless to say, I didn't score that well.

The Blues were tough enough, and then you look behind you about another 100+ yds to the Tiger Tees, and it's just amazing. Hole #7 is a 277 yard Par-3. Hole #13 is a 250 yard Par-3. And, the real monster hole is the 715 yard Par-6 5th! 8,325, Par-73.

i've played 10 of these on golf digest's list, and #6 Bethpage Black definitely seemed harder than the Ocean Course (i played when the wind was down)...

http://sports.espn.go.com/travel/news/story?id=2767296

of those not on the list, bulle rock 2 weeks out from the LPGA is a bear, and Torrey South this February was brutal too...

scorecards with slope are packed away....

Yep, he said he had a "long day" that day ...

Here's the funny story ... he found out that Tom Brady is a member there and he was SO scared that he would shank a shot and hit Tom in the eye and he'd be out for the season and he would have to move out of New England ... Looks like half of that worry came true, but we have video evidence that it wasn't my bud's fault (unless he was wearing a chief's jersey yesterday ... )

My toughest was probably for a tournament I played while in college...Montour Heights (72.9/148). That's where I learned the lesson if there are mountains near the course, use the mountains to read the greens.
