id go ap2s i hate the mid irons in the zb set the half cavity half blade is very unappealing

Have you looked at the Macgregor pro c the one thing about them is you m may want to consider is a easier to hit 3, 4, maybe 5 because they have a very small clubface, but if there not a problem thats great. If you dont like the macgregors id go with the AP2's because the zb's are like the VR split cavity's. in the VR split cavity I could hit the blades more easily in the mid irons. Felt the same way with zb's and mb's.

The ZB's are on of the nicest looking irons out there. They'd look sick in your bag.

I would go with the AP2s. I just think they are more unique than the ZBs. How much more workability would you need over the AP2s? Even though they are not a blade or as small as the ZBs, they can easily be worked and are played by guys on tour.

Plus, if you're going to go with a ZB style of club, I think you're better off with Mizuno.

i would go with the ap2s. with my experience with them, i thought the felt just as good as (or better than) blades while also being more forgiving. they also allowed for enough workability.

the only thing i like more about blades (or in this case the blended set) is that they look nicer. i really appreciate the look of a classic iron. but i also agree with the poster that said the mid irons in the zb's looked ugly, so i guess i would be impartial to either.

ap2s will cost you about an extra 100-200, but if money isnt an issue i would go for it

They're getting a little harder to find, but I just put a new set of 695cb's in the bag. I absolutely love them. Forged, extremely easy to work, a bit of a cavity, and drop dead gorgeous. They're also running about $200 less than the AP's and Z's right now.

FWIW, Zack Johnson was playing them when he won the Masters.

If you can drag yourself away from Titleist, demo some Ping S59, 58 or 57's. They are very workable and forgiving, obviously have a firmer feel to the forged irons already suggested. Or try the Nike VR split cavities.

Take a look at the MacGregor MT Pro forged irons. You can get the Pro-M (muscleback) or Pro-C (Cavity) version, and you can even mix and match with the two as I did. They also come in a chrome finish or a sweet gunmetal. http://www.macgregorgolf.com/irons.asp I have the 3-PW set with 3-6 irons in cavity back and the 7-PW in the muscleback. They are as soft and workable as any iron I've ever had, and they are quite a bit cheaper to get than the Mizuno or Titleist. Just search for them on eBay. I got my set brand new for $250, and then had them altered and reshafted for $400, and they still came in way cheaper than the other irons I was looking at. Also, if you custom order from MacGregor, their custom shop is the best in the business. Happy Shopping! P.S. if you like the AP2s, look at the new Taylor Made Tour Preferred irons. My choice came down to the Macs or those, but the Macs were way cheaper.

If you have no problem with Mizuno, try the MP-62s. The AP2s and ZBs sure are sweet.
