I don't like using my carry bag on a cart.

I have a nice, if old, sun mountain bag that has been on a cart enough to scrape up the legs. I don't like that, or the fact that the pockets don't seem to be in the right place or the fact that putting the bag in with the bottom side in the back, makes it so that the driver and 3 wood block the rest of hte clubs.

In other words, the carry bag is designed in the exact opposite way of what I want for a cart bag.

So do you ride with your carry bag, and if so, what do you do to make it easier to deal with - or should I just suck it up and deal with it.

BTW, I have a nice cart bag which I use primarily. It's a pain to switch back and forth and it discourages me from walking because I'll NEVER carry it around the course - it's a monster.

I had the same trouble with my last stand / carry bag on carts. It was a pain in the arse to use when riding.

My hat is off to the folks at Callaway. The bag I now have has been outstanding as a carry bag (I only loop it to the range, putting green, parking lot), riding or on a push cart.

It has been the best overall golf bag I've ever had. My only improvement would have been to sacrifice a bit from the 5.5lb weight and have 14 full length dividers vs the 8 that it has. Small detail, though.

dude, i have a sick cleveland back that I love, except for the fact it is missing a individual putter pocket, but no biggie. I walk 99.9% of the time, but for those 5 rounds a year that I play with my dad and we take a cart, it sucks!!! My bag, like yours, is exactly opposite of what I want it to be for the position of pockets and clubs. I usually just swap the clubs into different pockets when I ride, but still lame. I hear ya!

I was just going to say I have the Nike Sasquatch and I hate trying to put it on a cart. The stand mechanism makes it a pain to put on the cart and be stable. Fortunately I walk about 95% of the time and use my Clicgear 2.0 push cart.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say I've never tried that... That would fix one of my complaints.

I don't like using my carry bag on a cart.

I had the same issue, so I bought a cart bag. Like you, I found it a pain to switch back and forth so I end up mostly using my stand bag and just dealing with it. I've never noticed that it messes up the legs though.

i just have one bag- and that is a carry bag that i use for high school and summer golf tournaments. I use that bag on carts all the time when im playing practice rounds with my friend gabe. It doesn't bother me that much when i put it on the cart. I just adjust real quick to the balls, tees, glove, and towel pockets are facing out (all on same side) and i have no trouble getting my clubs out.

I think the carry bags work good on a cart but it would depend on the carry bag. For years I used a Ping carry bag, all the pockets faced out and I though it worked very well on a cart, it was smaller then a normal cart bag, so when my buddies would put thier huge cart bags on, there was still room. The only draw back was it did not have full length dividers and clubs would tangled up in the bag.

I noticed that Ogio has some bags that the legs actually zip up in their own sleeve so they would work on a cart or a push cart or can be carried. I currently have a Mizuno bag that is kind of a cross between a carry and a cart bag, it has legs and shoulder harness for carry but is bigger then ultra light Ping, Sun Mountain, or Titleist carry bags. It works well on my push cart or on a cart.

I just turn my carry bag sideways so that its facing out to whatever side of the cart i'm riding on. Saves the legs and it will stay in that position better.

I switch back and forth...what hassle? It litterally takes 3 minutes (clubs, tees, balls, glove, jacket). What takes so long and makes it so hectic?

the bigger hassel for me is that I always forget to switch at least one thing. Last week it was a bandaid, which I actually ended up needing on the course. I have the same problem with cars. If I drive my wifes car I always end up leaving my sunglasses or phone or something in her car.

I'm just forgetful I guess.

When I used to walk and actually carry my bag, I thought the best Multi purpose (carry/cart) bag was the Callaway Terra Firma. (I think that was the name). The legs could be strapped to the bag for cart use, and the pockets were always accessible. I used it for 3 years then gave this bag to my Nephew, he's been beating it up for a season or two and it still works great.

Since I started using a push cart (now a remote controlled electric one). My bag of choice is the Bag Boy NXO-(Non revolver) with the 14 divider and the clip-loc feature. Lightweight, but very well designed.

::thinking:: Why on earth did I ever carry my bag? These carts are fantastic, even the non electric 3 wheeled push ones.....
