i think it would be cool to see where everybody would want to play. lets assume that pirce is not an issue, so what are the top 5 public courses you would want to play?

mine are as follows:
1. Pebble Beach
2. Pinehurst No. 2
3. TPC at Sawgrass
4. Bethpage Black Course
5. Wolf Creek

i would also love to play Oakmont and Augusta, but i dont see myself coming across tens of thousand dollars to spare, so.....

Just pebble beach. Ive played bethpage several times and pinehurst and sawgrass dont really appeal to me all that much. Id really like to play that new links course that the US open is being played on in a few years. It looks really fun.

Whistling Straights, Bethpage Black, Harbour Town, Torrey Pines, and International (Pines) in Bolton, MA (80.0/154 8,325 yards from back tees). International has a 715 yard par 6, a 656 yard par 5, a 270 yard par 3, and a 576 yard par 4. Ridiculous. Not too mention that the par 6's green is 90 yards deep.

Pebble Beach, Bandon, Chambers Bay(WA), Erin Hills (WI), and probably Kiawah Island Ocean Course. i've played both courses at Whistling Straits a few times and they are well worth it. i'm gonna try to make Erin Hills this summer.

Public courses is tough. I've played Pebble and got my tail kicked on the front side so I would love to go back there again. To be honest, and I know this is sad, my favorite public courses are the Robert Trent Jones courses in Alabama. They are super cheap but you definitely get your money's worth.

My favorites on the trail go:

1. Highland Oaks in Dothan
2. Magnolia Grove in Mobile
3. Grand National in Opelika
4. Capital Hill in Prattsville
5. Lakewood in Point Clear

it looks like a 290 yd carry to reach the fairway on that par 6.

I would love to play Spyglass Hill and Pasatiempo again... Torrey Pines, Bethpage Black, and Pacific Dunes would round out the five.

    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • Hence your Avatar!😜 I drink a lot of water during the day if I’m playing or exercising. I get cramps otherwise.
    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
    • This isn't some kind of natural fact. It's a lot more complicated than this implies.
