I have a mild rant so please bear with me......
I am in the market for a new putter and I'm looking at a mid-mallet type. With that in mind, I am looking at the Scotty red x, the Bettinardi bc-03, and the Odyssey black series #3. Well, after further review it seems that both the Bettinardi and Odyssey aren't made in left hand. WHY the F**K not? I guess I'll have to go with the Red x, which isn't a bad choice, but I'd like to have a few options to try. Why wouldn't these companies want to make money off left handed golfers as well?
Any other lefties that are as frustrated as I am?

All of you lefties out there, if you have not tried this, give it a go. My old college roomate was a lefty. He would sit in front of the TV with his back to the screen and watch the action looking into a mirror. Imagine, seeing Tiger as a lefty. Hey, maybe Phil's wild swing would look different as a righty... I'll have to try that next time.

Have you tried the Scotty Squareback? It comes in lefty , unlike the fastback.

yes being left handed our options are much more difficult. As an aspiring club builder, my choices are FAR more restricted. I would imagine that probably 1/2 or less of the quality component club choices are available in left handed.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

I too still putt righty, but have purchased a cheapo lefty putter to start the transition.

There is still a huge bias to righties in this game as far as equipment availability. It is a hell of a lot better now for lefties then it used to be...

Yeah good luck finding 8.5* loft drivers, demos and the more exotic clubs in LH models. Good luck finding them in "brick and mortar" stroes as well .... 50 right sets; 2-3 lefty

The "RH only" moniker still out there far to often

64* lefty wedge anyone?

I haven't. I really like the looks of the fastback, but I'll definitely check the squareback out. Thanks.

I'm a natural lefty, and taught myself to golf right handed..... mainly to keep my baseball/softball swing away from my golf swing..... (which my dad and two brothers do as well)

BUT, I still putt left.... I find that I have a bit more "touch" going my natural way....

anyway, you should look at the Taylor Made Monza Spider or Itsy Bitsy Spider putters.....

I love mine........

and yes, they do obviously come in left handed models!

  • 2 months later...
This thread is a couple months old but I did a search to see if anyone else was in my predicament... I hate being left-handed! I'm in the market for new irons, and while I can find most of the clubs I'm interested in online, I can't find them anywhere to demo. I've read all the reviews and my top choice right now are MX-25's, but I really want to be able to hit them before I buy them.

Anyone able to find clubs to swing before buying or do you guys just buy based on reviews and hope for the best? Golf Galaxy doesn't even carry left-handed Mizuno's...

A local proshop had a 6 iron of several lefty mizunos to try out so I guess I got lucky. I don't know if I would buy any club based on reviews, you need to hit it to really see if its a good fit.

Golf courses do not set up well for a left handed draw. I would recommend my putter. It is sweet and all over ebay.

Also, there are very limited options to actually hit something in the store.

You can get a 64* Vokey in LH...The Callaway x-forged is available left handed too..

That may have been (and in fact was) true in 1970. Not now.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.
