So I know this completely hypothetical, but Tiger decides to fly commercial to the Buick Open and they lose his clubs!!!

The Nike tour van is a no show, FedEx is on strike and Tiger forgot his wallet so he can’t get a replacement set.

Luckily I am there and let him borrow my clubs with the condition he does not make any adjustments to them. He has them on Tuesday night so has a bit of time to try them out.

What does he shoot? (He shot -20 to win by 3)

Well you have some good clubs. I'm thinking he's not going to win though. He's probably going to be somewhere around -5. Also, the players get golf balls and other accessories put in their lockers before a round for them {so no used pro v's :) }

Driver: Callaway Big Bertha Diablo 9º
2 Hybrid: Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood
Irons: Nike Slingshot OSS 6-3 iron
          Taylormade Tour Preferred PW-7 iron
Wedges: Cleveland CG14 50º, 54º
              Taylormade RAC 58º
Putter: Ping Darby 32" shaft

They also have vans and free equipment so lets ignore that and say he has to use the bridgestones.

Just wondering how people think Tiger would do with someone elses clubs / ball

He would still shoot par or under for the tournament if he putts well. He's going to be able to use pretty much anything and play alright...

He won't win, he'll be back in the pack but he will be under par. He's the best but he's finely tuned to his clubs. It would take more than just a couple of days to adjust and then still wouldn't have what he wants.

I think he would still get to around 10 under if he could have "his" ball. I think the driver and three wood wouldn't hurt him much and it force him take take it easy on his swing, he may lose some distance, but might find less trouble. The irons would be a real mess for him I find I hit those things too high so i can't imagine what a Tiger swing would look like. The wedges would be okay for him and the putter shouldn't be a big issue.

I guess I have him 10 under based on the fact he would have to be a bit more conservative which would have helped on the first few days.

I think he would have trouble with the wedges actually, I can almost guarantee he has very minimal bounce, the 14* on the SW would probably drive him nuts, but he would be ok around the greens with them.

I say not a chance he wins. Mainly because of differences in the irons. A slight difference in clubs can make a big difference on tour. I'm a big Tiger fan too.

I think it would be interesting to just see him use a crappy set like I have to see their full potential. Right now I may think my driver will not go further than 240, but once Tiger hits it 300+, I'd know it was the archer and not the arrow.

They should hold charity raffles where you can win a chance to play with a pro on your local/favorite course and they share your clubs.

Trust me, your driver can definitely go past 240

I could see it going either way, he is Tiger Woods, he can play anything. But on the other hand, he has always been slow to adopt new just because it is new. My guess is he would find a way to make it work, not 20 under but for sure under par.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

Let's do better than that, and pull a tincup on him, and see if he can win with just a 7-iron!!! LOL

The thing i think hasn't been said is how bad he would struggle without his shafts on the woods and the shafts on the irons. I think he would just about break par due to struggle off the tee.

I agree, I still don't think he'd do worth a crap(nor would any pro).
