I'm from canada, and I'm really not sure on what side I'm suppose to be, I know Mike Weir is on the international team, but besides of that I feel i'm more american than any other region in the world, nothing against them, but i'm hoping the US wins (except matches against Weir).

I'm I normal? how to other canadians feel about that.

Anyway hope to see good golf this weekend.

Just enjoy the golf, I wouldn't worry about who to support, just support good golf.

Hopefully the fourballs will bring some better play today.

Not the greatest course for matchplay due to the lack of bunkers imo.

I agree with ya Golden. Weir should be able to play in the President & Ryder cups if he qualifies. The US and Canada are basicly relatives!!

I have a similar dilemma, in that there's one player on the American team who I'm not very fond of. I struggled with this at last year's Ryder Cup, too. I eventually decided that I can root on a match-by-match basis, and on an overall basis. So, I want the Americans to win, and that's an overriding deal, but if a certain someone makes zero points in the process, I can't say I'll be upset by it.

Not me; I'm Canadian too, and because Weir is on the team, pulling for the International team. For that matter, I usually cheer for Europe in the Ryder Cup matches too.

Looking forward to watching it on the weekend.

Are you talking about Tiger Woods?, lol.

Directed at me, rooting against a particular player? No. It actually doesn't fit my hint: it's clearly someone who was on the Ryder Cup team last year.

Heck, the americans are always bashing canadians, why would you root for them?

I think the bashing goes both ways. Anyway, We are much more related than the two sides are willing to admit.

come on... out with it. Do you hate KP, AK, or is it Hunter Mahan.

original question... root for whoever you want... I'm rooting for good golf. A small part of me hopes the Internationals win just to give the event some more fire in the future.

Canadian - who does not like Weir (I have had dealings with him twice in real life and thought he was a major jerk). Still this year I am cheering for the international team as I like an underdog

In the same boat, except I root for Phil as well. Weir vs Phil was really awkward, as I root for all left-handed players everywhere (especially right-handers playing left

I like Weir, he's a great guy with a good looking swing. A good representative for Canada I'd say.

Well regardless who you want to see win, I heard this is the last year it will be called "The Presidents Cup".
There is a push on to rename it "Obama's Cup" because he has done so much for the game of golf.

Is Obama nominally chairing it this year, or is it someone else? I figure the first one of his presidency, and it's in the United States, too. I don't remember hearing anything about who is chairing this year.

    • It's been a little more than a year since I can last remember hitting golf balls and today I just got my second cortisone injection in 11 months. I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
