I much prefer to walk, and just picked up a nice push cart so I don't have to rent one anymore. I find I play better when I walk, but I'm not fond of packing my sticks on my back. How about you?

I walk and carry. A 3 1/2 pound Ping bag makes it seem like I am carrying nothing at all. It is much better than riding in my opinion, it gives me some exercise and also saves a couple of bucks.

I usually prefer to use my carry bag and walk. It seems as I get older fewer and fewer of my golf friends are willing to. My various arthritic issues do much better when I walk.

I prefer to walk but I am in the middle here. if plaing 9 I prefer to carry but find that after about 14-15 holes my back acts up so I usually pull cart 18.

I hate that courses make you ride on the weekends. Nothing like mssing the green on the opposite side and not knowing what club you need!

Question: How do you like to get around the course?

I'm thrilled with 90 or less, but yeah, I heard that.

I walk and carry. This summer I've been reviewing some electric carts, though I've not used them often enough to change my stock answer.

When I got past the 40s I gave up on walking. I ride all the time now but prefer walking. Hip replacement kinda put the qui-etus on the walking however. I think you concentrate more when you walk and you plan out your next shot better when walking. Carts are way too fast for me!

I really like to walk. I have one group that only rides, so I ride with them in self-defense. I have tried to get them to walk, but no way. And they are young, early forties.

My Sunday group walks and I love it.

I walk and carry, except for the summers here (Phoenix, AZ) when I will ride a cart more, just to make it through the heat easier

Walk and carry, always.

I play with 70 and 80 year olds who walk every weekend, once I get too old to walk 18 holes that's it game over no more golf for me. Now that's at least another 30 or 40 years away yet so when I get that old I may just have to reconsider!

Walk and carry.

Carrying makes it easier to find those pesky balls that have gone astray!!

Walk and carry. I think two of the greatest inventions of all time are the dual strap and the stand bag. When I play 18 I am more inclined to ride. Problem is, it's a toss up to which is harder on my back. Carrying my clubs or riding in a cart. The only down side I find with carrying is that you have to be a little more selective on what you bring with you. I have a rubermaid tub in the back of my truck with golf balls and extra items divided into zip lock bags. That way if I'm riding I can grab extra ammo, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. When I walk, I just drop the stuff back in the tub. We had a stretch in the high 90's and low 100's for about 10 days where I was leaving extra clubs in the truck.

Our heat wave has finally broken and I was able to walk comfortably this afternoon without completely soaking all my clothes. I only got to walk 9 because of some other commitments on my time, but Saturday morning, I will be at it early...

i used to always walk/carry my gear, until 2weeks ago i was getting ready for a comp and it was raining hard. My dad asked if I'd like to borrow his electric trolley, I said no to start with but then thought it'd be better than having a wet bag on my back. The difference it made to my game was obvious as i was still 'fresh' on the last few holes and nailing long drives. I got 37pts (T3 with a 10h/capper) I bought my own one of a well known auction site last week £85 and bought the HIPPO G300 bag and am well chuffed with both.

I prefer to walk and push - I get the exercise and I find that I enjoy the course and the whole golfing experience more (without the weight of my bag on shoulders, too).

With a buggy, I find that the scenery just becomes a bit of a blur and I'm too focused on getting to my ball. It feels like I'm more in a rush to get it over with. I'd miss out on the squirrels, birds and other good, old-fashioned nature stuff... not forgetting the utter hottie teeing off on 14th... hahaha!

Oh and at my home club, you have to be 60 years old or over, or have a good reason to be 'eligible' for a buggy (I'm not 60... that was an FYI, LOL!) which, IMNSHO, is the way it should be

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
