Hey guys, i have a chance to buy a brand new TM tour burner with one of those expensive white and black golf pride grips for 130 bucks. and not all up front, my friend just bought one and doesnt like it and will let me pay it off over a month or so. ive hit it two or three times so far and liked it, but the times ive hit it so far the weathers been bad, either extemely windy or cold and rainy. it felt good but couldnt tell. What do u guys think of your tour burner? and my old driver is a TM r580 that ive had for 4 or 5 years, but i still hit it real well. so im kinda wondering if i should buy the new one (somewhat tight on money) or if its not enough of a difference from my r580 to spend the money. thoughts?

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

if you hit your current driver really well then forget it. that being said, i play the tour burner and absolutely love it. the ball really jumps off the face and mishits still travel well. what i like about it most is it gives excellent feedback on the mishits...i can tell exactly where i hit it on the club face. i picked mine up used last year for about 80 bucks, so if money is tight better deals can be had.

I have the tour Burner, and I like it a lot, neutral face and very hot, if you like this setup then yeah its a good club to have. I agree however that the $130 isnt the best price on it, I think retail theyre down to $125 or so at this big box stores, and they can be had in great condition used for $80 or so. that being said I dont play that club much anymore, I picked up an R7 Limited and it plays much better IMHO, YMMV.

What I play:

R7 Limited, UST V2
Burner 3W, Rifle ULF
Tour 3H-4H, Rifle ULF RAC MB 5-PW, Rifle ULF 54*, 58*, TP Smoke wedges Black Pearl Studio Select 1.5 ProV1 or TP Red LDP

The retail ones left are all stiff from what I can determine. Dicks is closing them out. I bought one to play around with and it was nice, I just had to swing to hard to use it for a round so I gave it to one of my kids. It was interesting, with my reg 07 Burner I swing 86-7 with the TB I swing 93-4.

I love my Tour Burner. You do not have to swing hard for balls to go far. On really well hit swings, you can feel the trampeline effect of the ball hitting the sweet spot on the club. Even on off center hits, the ball do not lose too much distance. I would get it if I was you.

I had the R580, then went to the Tour Burner. Both 9.5* stock shafts. I don't see a big change in distance. However, the TB launches higher, has more carry and less roll where the R580 has less carry and more roll. Depending on conditions and what course I'm playing, I'll swap them out.
