Anyone out there playing the E5? According to their online fit I would benefit dcrim some better short game spin by switching from the E6 to the E5.

Anyone using it that can give some feedback about them?

In my bag:

Big Bertha 3 Wood
Big Bertha 3-10 IADAMS Tom Watson Classic 54,58 and 64 Wedges Nike Oz 5 Putter/Wilson Staff ( not sure model, bought it in second hand store ) Ball: Bridgestone E6

My normal ball is the Pro V1x...but got a free sleeve from Golf Galaxy so I gave them a shot. Just to be clear, I DID NOT expect the E5 to compare or even come close to the V1x. But for me the E5 was an entire club shorter. It had good spin off a full iron shot, but lacking around the green on pitch shots.

The e5 is a high trajectory ball with decent spin characteristics. If you need higher launch and spin, then this might be a good ball for you.

I did the Bridgestone fitting a month or so ago and they fit me with the E5 ball. I told them spin/greenside control was most important for me. After hitting my driver a number of times, they said the E5 would give me better distance, spin rate off the driver, etc....

I did find it to be a long ball (it is a 2-piece ball), it did have pretty good spin and greenside control (urethane cover) ---- but I hated the feel of it and the roll and feel off the putter. Felt very hard. Off the putter, it just didnt seem to have any feel to it.

Of course....feel is all subjective... It's a good balance between distance ball vs control ball.

I played the e5 for a while now (hard to get overhere) and I like both distance and feel. The amount of spin isn't V1 like and I really don't mind, being a mid handicap .... it makes no sense .... to invest the extra $$$ in a V1 ball.

I also played the Srixon AD 333 a while (still do actually) and they take just less side spin, so if you like to work the ball, you will have to work harder..... but when you don't like to work the ball .... it is also a splendid ball.

Recently I started using the Titleist DT Solo (and I know many hot shots overhere, will dislike that ball ... calling it rocks) and I can not say they are crap...... a Splendid ball at a great price ..... they also spin a lot and you can use them longer than 6 or 9 holes.

This is a great ball.  I have an 85-90 mph ss and they go about 210-215 yds.  The urethane cover with only 2 pieces is great! Also try out the b330 rxs, my swing coach told me I should give these a try, what do you know, great!  Although I still dont know which I like better.

I use the E5 right now and I really like it.  I find that it spins just as well for me as any of the more expensive balls and is considerably less expensive.

I also played the e5 ball extensively for about 6 months - late last year until this spring. It does perform on partials around the green - not as well as a tour ball or even the RXS, but it does well. Ball flight is up, distance is fine.

Play the e5 more and in direct comparison with the RXS - I think you will find that the e5 has higher compression and a firmer feel. I prefer an RXS or my current ball - the HEX Chrome, to the e5. Softer feel from both balls. Frankly, off the putter, I don't find much difference - I mean, it is urethane and you're not compressing the ball when you putt. But feel is subjective -

If you're looking, the Taylormade Balls also receive good press and reviews - the TP5 and TP3, and both are on sale - something like buy 2, get one free depending on the ball.

I've been playing it lately and it's a good ball but with the price of the TP3 being what it is I prefer it for putting (shouldn't make that much difference but I putt he TP3/ProV1x much better than any other ball). I stick to one of them either on sale of recycled x's because I score better because I have fewer missed putts. Maybe it's just in my head but the rounds I've played with the E5 have had upwards of 7 more putts than my normal average of 35. Could have been a bad day every time I played it but the irons/driver were working the same, just my putting was off. Needed something to blame it on so I picked the ball hahahaha.

I got fitted and had decent results with the 330s and 330rx- I was kinda in between for swing speed. I use them both and like them about as well as the ProV1. I have tried some E- series Bridgestones, but in this price range I also prefer the Tilteist DT Solo.
