I am going to buy some new wedges before the old style of wedges are gone forever.

My current PW is 47 deg of loft and I am looking to get 2 or 3 new wedges.

I would appreciate some input for lofts and bounces that I should get.

Currently I use a 52 and 56, not sure the bounces

You can tell on the vokeys by looking at the back of the wedge where it says
Titleist
Vokey
52.X or 56.X

have a look at the vokey selector guide on the titleist website to get an idea of what type of wedge loft/bounce you might like.

3 wedge:

It depends on how far he hits his wedges too though. No point getting a Gap Wedge if there's only a 15 yard gap

I would imagine there being a more than 15 yard difference if he goes straight from a 47° PW to a sand wedge. Most amateurs benefit from a wedge that bridges the gap between the sand and the pitching. That's why all of my suggestions include a gap/approach wedge. Just my suggestions.

One thing to consider on selecting your wedges: comparative shaft length.

In most numbered irons through PW, shaft length varies in 1/2" increments up and down the set. When you get to other wedges - GW, SW, LW - this is often not the case. This is for both stock wedges with an iron set, or specialty wedges like Vokey or CG15. Beyond PW, you often have 1/4" or 1/8" increment shaft changes between wedge groups.

If you don't have the distance space you're expecting from wedges 4° apart in loft, it may be because the shaft lengths are very close together.

For Vokey Spin Milled, you have 48° PW at 35.75", GWs at 35.5", and SWs and LWs at 34.75"

For CG 14, you have 52° and below at 35.50" and 54° and above at 34.75"
For CG15, you have 46° PW at 35.625", with remaining wedge shafts working their way down in 1/8" increments to 35.125"

Stock irons: Diablo Edge wedges the PW and AW shafts are both 35.5" inches long, with 5° loft in between.

When considering wedge mix, go to the manufacturer's site to get specs on loft, bounce, and shaft length.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Here is my set up, just for comparison only--since your setup should depend on a variety of factors, swing type (shallow/steep), typical misses on approach, typical yardage to the green on chip/pitch shots etc.:

PW (48*), 52 (Mizuno), 56.10 Vokey, and 60.10 Vokey. The last one, I picked it up just last Saturday as these wedges with u-grooves will no longer be available after this year.

Made an error

earlier on shaft length. For 54° and above, correct length is 35.25 ".

im going to buy a lob wedge should i get a 60 degree or 64 degree?

You should wait until you're regularly scoring pars and bogeys using a GW or SW before getting a lob wedge. JMO.

If you get a lob wedge and learn how to use it properly it can really help you scramble for pars better but if your course management is gd you shouldnt need one because you will always leave your self room

I am going to buy some new wedges before the old style of wedges are gone forever.

I have AP2 irons too, and I got the 51° GW that goes with the set (I bought it after I'd been playing the AP2's for a year and a half). I also carry a 54° and a 56° SW. I play greenside bunker shots with all 3 wedges depending on how far I am from the hole. The best thing about going with the AP2 GW is that it feels and swings just like the rest of your irons. Just an idea anyway.
