Need help picking new golf shoes

I usually walk when I play and in the summer I sometimes walk up to 54-72 holes a day. I currently have a pair of Footjoy Superlites with FJ dryjoy insoles in them (extremely comfortable) and a pair of FJ E-Comforts (hurts my feet after about 18 holes).

Anyone have any suggestions on some shoes that are very comfortable to walk in and don't hurt the feet? Or are there any insoles, like Dr. Scholls, that you can where in your golf shoes?

I would suggest either the ecco street shoes or a new company called true links wear.  both are extremely comfortable and i pretty much always walk.

Yep, Nike Lunar Control, Nike Air Max Summer (if you can find them), or Adidas Tour 360 4.0 Sport. We just published my Lunar Control review a few days ago (here http://thesandtrap.com/b/apparel/nike_lunar_control_shoe_review ), and Erik reviewed the Tour 360 4.0 Sports a little while back (here http://thesandtrap.com/b/apparel/adidas_tour_360_40_and_tour_360_sport_shoe_review ). I think he liked the TRUE Linkswear shoes a lot as well.

I can say that I've worn the first two I mentioned all day and had zero problem, could have worn them for much longer. The Lunarlon Foam in the Lunar Controls is VERY soft and cushy.

Any feelings towards Fj Dryjoys, FJ SYNR-G, or FJ Icon?

I have 3 pairs of Dryjoys and a pair of Gel Fusions which are really comfortable.  I think that you need to stay away from the lower end shoes and make an investment in a good pair.  I don't buy anything less than Dry-Joys.

Good question...generally they are shoes that can be bought on sale for $49.99 or less, but that doesn't mean you can't buy a crummy pair for a lot more, because you can.  My experience has been that with FootJoy, the DryJoy models and up usually equate to more quality, better leather and construction, and less chances of having wet feet.  Anytime when I have bought a cheaper model, it has cost me more because they only last a season.  I have had DryJoys last for many years without problems.

Cool, was just curious since different people have different tastes and all. Of course, there are always exceptions to that rule, as stuff hits the closeout shelf. You can actually find some steals for right around $49.99 sometimes, on shoes that were $100 and above when they first released, but I do know what you mean about quality and construction though. FJ makes good shoes, no doubt, but maybe try some others one day, you might be surprised. On the other hand, I totally understand loyalty, just saying

I don't think using Dr.Scholls is a good idea at all, if you need an insole, I highly recommend a company called: "SOLE" . They are pricey $35-$45 , but they

are extremely solid and comfortable and will form to your feet. I wear them in my business shoes and will never go out without one ever again.

I wanted to try the other FJ models which are made for walking, which I forgot what they are called though.

I bought a pair of the ecco street shoes for this year, played in them last week and they were great.  I'm a big fan of spikeless shoes for walking, they are much easier on my feet.

My new asics golf shoes are great.  Way better then my adidas ones from years past.

If your a fan of FJ and looking for another golf shoe brand that would be similar I would try on a pair of ECCO's, a little pricey but well worth the $ their casual line is really nice to play in. I had a pair of them last year and loved them.

Oh ECCO makes golf shoes? Interesting. I bought a biz shoe from them once, they aren't bad, but for me they aren't really the best either.

I'm thinking of buying a lesser FJ, since all I have are Icons. What's great for walking and make it comfortable still?

I have Nike Lunar Controls and absolutely love them.  Comfortable, good grip, and keep the feet dry during wet days.

I like all my Nike shoes, and the Lunars are on my list of shoes to purchase next along with the 2010-11 TW's…

But as far as cheap shoes go, Nike actually makes quite a bit if "cheap" shoes. And for that reason I haven't bought any from them for the last year and a half. Call me cheap, but I refuse to spend $200 on a pair of shoes. The last two good pairs I bought were Nike's SP8 TW's and they're still going strong! I would like to get a nice pair of summer shoes though…

I bought a pair of the Ecco Street Premiers a few weeks back, and they're certainly the most comfortable shoe I've ever walked a course in.  But with them being spikeless, I'm still a little concerned about how long they'll last.

I'm looking for something more traditional looking. So ecco is pretty much out of the question. As for Nike they have more of an athletic look that I dont really want.

I prefer Footjoy shoes as they offer a traditional look, with durability, quality, and comfort.

So which ones would be best for walking:? (In order from highest price to lowest price)

I have worn dry joys for years............ I recently found a pair of ecco classic premiers for under $70. Pretty understated, classic design, and the best golf shoe I've ever worn.

Personally, I can't wear Nike's. The regulars are too narrow and the wides are too wide.
