I have been thinking about upgrading my skycaddie 2.5. I was first looking at the SGX the I saw the new upro mx. Does anyone know how the accurate the upro is? I know with my skycaddie most times when I stand on the sprinkler head it's dead on or only off a yard. Also not sure about how everyone else maps but skycaddie. I'm assuming these maps are very accurate or companies wouldn't use them. Let me know what you think. The MX is cheaper and no yearly fees but also I've always heard you get what you pay for. Thanks

The SGX is my third SkyCaddie upgrade and I absolutely love it.  I know som prefer lasers and others prefer other brands of gps units but I have never had a single glitch with any of my SkyCaddie units.

I have an older Sky Caddie and like it better than any of the other manufactures' unit I have seen.  Several of my golfing partners have other manufactures units and IMO they all have some short comings that I would not like.  But there is a reason that there are both Ford. Lexus and Chevy and it isn't always true that more expensive is always better.  So do some research, like you are here, and pick what suites your needs best.

Just thought I'd bring this thread back to let people know that Best Buy has the SGX on clearance here in NY for $179.  I picked one up as a Christmas gift for one of my buddies.

All of the ones on Long Island do but I'm not sure if it's just a NY thing.  Also noticed they had their Bushnell laser range finders on clearance as well.

The site does list it at $299, but the stores in that I visited (3) in NY have all their golf gps's on clearance - 50% off.
