Is it actually worth spending more on shoes?my nike TW 09 shoes have only last about a year and a half and are not waterproof I bought them cause I got them half price at £50.Now I need to replace them however and debating if its worth buying dearer ones.  I've also heard of people saying that the toe splits on the dryjoys so whats the point in spending more if they will still split etc.

Greenjoys are cheap, but good.  I have had mine for a little over a year and they seem to be fine.  For $40.00, you can't go wrong.

Never had Greenjoys but Dryjoys last forever and are dry.  I would buy more then one set and rotate them, in that case maybe 2 sets of greenjoys are a better decision.

greenjoys will last for a few years, dryjoys for 10 if you keep them in good condition.  imo.

kk thanks for the comments.  See I actually think it mite just be the material on my TW at the side that may cause it.  Its more like a velcro material which I just think hasnt lasted as long as leather ones would such as the dry joys.  Im scared to buy them because my TW are an expensive shoe so im scared the same will happen but I can get the dryjoys of ebay for £70 which is decent so mite just go for those

Greenjoys aren't leather and are water resistant but not water proof. Dryjoys are leather and are water proof but if you don't like the price try the contours.

This^^^ I have often told people that you can get by with cheap clubs, balls, ect but buy the best footwear and outerwear you can afford. Not much fun swinging a nice new R11 if your feet are soaked.

So true...once your shoes get past the warranty period and you start to feel moisture you can treat them with FJ Conditioner/Waterproofer...frequent treatments keep them at their best.

    • Perceptive rules question by caddie unlocks Tour pro’s ‘dead zone’ relief A perceptive rules question by Xander Schauffele’s caddie, Austin Kaiser, unlocked “dead zone” relief during the Wells Fargo Championship.
    • I ran across an interesting new clip, Johnson Wagner went into that spot with the Referee who allowed the relief.  Apparently there was a perfectly reasonable shot to be made, as Johnson clearly demonstrated, so relief from the TIO was perfectly appropriate. https://x.com/PGATOUR/status/1788998655556415994
    • Once again… it's easier to be "consistent" when you're playing against weaker competition. Despite playing against significantly stronger/deeper fields, Jack was nowhere near as dominant as Tiger Woods was. Jack's "consistency" is a lame way of saying "I like Jack and I want to vote for him as GOAT but I can't come up with a real reason why, so I'll just say he was more 'consistent.'" If someone joined the PGA Tour, kinda muddled around for a year or two, then won 16 majors and 75 total PGA Tour events in eight years, then promptly retired… He'd almost surely have my vote for GOAT. Consistency schmonsistency.
    • Maybe not just the 18 & 15 angle though. Jack's consistency over a long period of time is pretty incredible. Kind of mindblowing to look at his total number of Top 5 finishes in the majors.
