Do you think Tiger will win this wek considering he's never broke 70 in this tournament. They changed par to 70 from 72

Yes, he was being interviewed by the golf channel about the change from a par 72 to 70 and that he has never broke 70 in this tournament. Tiger gave a little smirk and said he knew that.

Par makes no difference whatsoever to these guys, it's just a number. If they end up having 270 for the four rounds it's still 270 irrespective of whether the board says -10 or -18.

To your average chopper though it can present some mental issues. Stand on the tee of a 470 yard par five and you are thinking great, a short par 5 I'll make birdie here. Stand on the tee of a 470 yard par 4 and you are thinking about how much of a struggle it is going to be to make a par.

LOL... this is one of several tournaments that I believe Tiger owns. Hey, as long as they changed it to a par 70 for everyone else, yeah, he's got a great shot to win. Heck, they can make it a par 70 for him and 72 for others and he'd still have a shot.

Does it really matter what par it is? The idea is that the person who finished in the least number of strokes wins. It doesn't matter if nobody breaks par, the lowest score still wins. I find it silly when tournament players aren't happy because they changed a par 5 to a par 4 or something. It really doesn't matter, because everyone else is going to have to play it as a par 4 too. The idea is to go out and win, not shoot a -20 after 4 rounds.

But anyways, I think Tiger will play well and possibly win. As long as he remains focused, he should play some good golf.

Looks like he put the 70's behind him and shot a 64 today. Tied for first.

Tiger's shot sub-70 rounds there several times. LAST year he didn't: 70 71 71 72 or in 2005. He shot an opening-round 67 in 2004, closed with three rounds in the 60s in 2003 (the last of his four consecutive wins), had three rounds in the 60s in 2002, three in the 60s in 2001, etc.

This is so true. When I'm playing, I'll cross off the par on the scorecard and write something else anyway. I define "personal par" as:

<= 200 yards par-3 <= 400 yards par-4 Else par-5. If someone asks my score, I report the actual number regardless, since a "par" for me might be a bogey if you look at the real par. I imagine if I ever find myself looking at a 600+ yard hole, I'll have the distance to treat it as a normal par 5. There's a reason I play from the second set of tees (first non-forward tees) at the moment.

Yes, he has shot below 70 at bay hill, I must have missed or they didn't say his last eleven rounds at bay hill has not been better than 70. I heard that today. Eleven rounds for tiger not to shoot better than 70 at bay hill must have pissed him off pretty good.

Well after tiger breaks the 70's in the first round with a 64 he falls back into the 70's with 73-70-76. Did he even smile after the first hole on Sunday?

      I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

      If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
