Im reading review but ive found a bunch for $149.99 such as the adams speedline lp, ping g15, cleveland launcher fl, taylormade burner 2.0. I would like the easiest one to hit straight and off the fairway and they all seem to get good reviews and I was wondering if someone has done some research or if someone know the best way to tell what will work best besides hitting it into the screen? Any help would be great thanks

everyones gonna tell you the same thing. you should find a club that works best for you so maybe hit them all. however i happen to be in need of a 3 wood too and i would go for the burner 2.0. theres a reason taylor made dominates the wood game. they just feel solid. i like my nike mach speed driver though.

Im in exactly your shoes - needed a 3W I could hit off the deck ... bought a Cleveland Launcher FL wth the factory premium Mayazaki shaft in 17° loft because I always had trouble getting a 3 wood in the air.    Played 2 rounds with it - couldn't be happier - hit some massive (for me) fairway shots with it - never been able to consistently do that before.     It's such a nice club - recommend it highly.   Best part - Golfsmith is blowing them out right now for $129 !!!!!

If you are willing to look at used clubs, you can have your way with all the best used 3 woods!

Hit all you can - outdoors - so you can see the true flight of the ball.

Then, enjoy your shopping!

Im not a big fan of buying used clubs Ive seen to many people who dont take care of them like I do. I would rather spend a little more $ to be the first one to throw it :)

It's garbage.  Well, the stock Matrix Ozik 4.8 shaft is, anyway.  I have the 5 wood (SF 1.0), and the first thing I did was pull the shaft.  Recently, I was testing 3 woods, and the burner 2.0 had the same shaft in it, the 4.8.  Both of these stiff shafts felt closer to A-flex when swung on the LM, and my dispersion was all over the map.  It felt really loose,  like spaghetti.  I tried several 3 woods, and narrowed it down to a Ping G15 with an Aldila Serrano shaft and The R11 TP with the Motore F3.  I was planning on picking up the Ping because the stores price on the R11 was ridiculously high.  Luckily I found one R11 TP on used callaway (they only had one, got lucky) for half of what the local retail store wanted.  But, you wouldn't want a second hand club, because......well, you know....  I am not picking on Matrix either, their Ozik xcon-6 is my most favored driver shaft.

(Used callaway is the only place I will buy a club sight unseen, because their condition ranking system is second to none.  If it says good condition, expect the club to come looking like new.)

Nice! I hope you like it as much as I do. I find the bevelled sole excellent for getting the ball up off the fairway and the look at address is confidence inspiring.

thats the number one reason i bought it,....without any manipulation it sits looking nuetral/closed so nothing in my head to worry about during the swing,...and the shallow face puts alot of confidence in me,.......i'll soon be getting the 5w also as my current one is almost as deep faced as my driver and gives me no confidence off the turf,...

Off Topic - How do you find the jpx800 driver? i want to swap my TM as it sits open a few degrees at adress and is a nightmare to square up

I did all my testing off the deck, no tee shots at all.  The G15 was fantastic with the optional Aldila shaft.  They didn't have the stock TFC shaft in stiff, so I didn't try it.  Honestly, I was amazed at how easy this club was to hit off the deck.  It also out-drove everything else I tried.  I went with the R11 because, like I said earlier, I got a sweet deal on it elsewhere and I wanted the option to be able to swap shafts on a whim.

A Golf Digest story from a couple of seasons ago said that the 4W is easier to hit than a 3W for the average golfer. Ping split the difference on this with the K15 woods - the 3W had 16* loft.

Just picked up a Cally Tour Octane 15* for a song. I hit quite a few 3s (all off the deck) and this one performed great. Someone said the shaft is made by Fubuki. I paid @ $125.

I've got a burner SF 2.0 3W and it's the best club in my bag. I think it hits like an absolute dream. Unreal ball flight and distance off the tee and so easy to hit off the deck. But like others have said, it's going to differ from person to person. You have to find what feels good to you and what's going to make you feel confident every time you step up to hit the ball.
