We play golf on an inclined plane so you want to try and not have the shoulders turn level to the ground.

All of these are draws pieces

Where the club head reaches it's lowest point is moved forward.  We want to hit the ball before that point to ensure an outward path.  This is where we talk about hitting out without swinging out to the right.

Out to in causes slices.  It also saps power.

Appreciate your help mvmac! I played 18 yesterday before i saw this and shot +6. Was sitting +1 through 11 then walked onto the 15 at +6. Had a stretch of bogeys but then pared 16 17 and 18.

Im going out now for 18. Ill try and put a few of these tips to good use. Thanks again!

Went to the range tonight and starting working on the shoulder turn and the knee flex.

Shoulder turn was hard to get comfortable with. But the knee flex felt really good. Just felt like it delayed the hips a touch and impact and was finishing position was at the target not open thus eliminating the pull fade. 90% of the time. Ill keep working on it.

Try to feel like like your starting your swing with your shoulder just like you would on a putt, where you take the club in a straight line behind the ball. Your left shoulder should come down, not around, in the first few feet of your swing. If you have a good backswing the downswing should fall into place.

I'd say learn this shoulder movement on your chip and pitch before you do it while swinging, my guess is that your pitching technique has the same flaw.

Went back to the range tonight and worked on the shoulder turn and knee flex. Once i hit a few balls and got a bit more comfortable with the turn i started hitting some really nice shots. And consistent to. Alot of balls landing right near each other which was nice. I think the knee flex really helps me not make the slight OTT move so i have been hitting a nice penetrating straight shot the last two range sessions. A few tonight had a draw but the wind was right to left so i am not really thinking much of it.

Hopefully i can have a few more range sessions after work this week and shoot some low scores on the weekend and get the cap down! :)

So had the lesson last night. My instructor was a pretty cool dude, nice and approachable, friendly guy. He gave me a couple of things to work on. Slight tweakage of the grip, relax my right elbow a bit more at setup and to straighten my right foot up at setup aswell. Felt a bit weird at first last night but i hit some solid balls after a while.

Then went to the range tonight and hit a bucket. I noticed last night and tonight with my new grip i started to get sore in the hands after 15 - 20 balls so i switched to the overlap grip. In the past the overlap has felt terrible but now with a slightly different grip it actually fells better than the interlock grip. Went on to hit some pretty nice balls, still feels a little strange at address but i know it will get easier once i hit a few thousand balls...

Gonna keep working at the range all this week after work and play on the weekend then book in again for another lesson.

    • Day 113: 4/18/24 Stack training progress check after finishing my 6th program, and 4th Full Speed Spectrum Training session, which is recommended for my next program.     Gained 1 mph with driver, 195 g, 95g. Maintained with 280 g , and gained 2 with 145 g. Lost 1 mph on both lead and trail arm. Felt like I lost distance in my last round…
    • Please forgive the sweaty shirt.  Just got off the treadmill and decided to do my Evolvr drill.
    • I'd agree that 4w seems like the right play here. I'm not a course designer or anything but that hole looks like it could be so much more fun if everyone played from those front 2 tee boxes that are right outside your shot cone and they cut down most of the trees down that left side of the fairway. That would give risk reward to long hitters who want to try and push it up to that left fairway, allow more players to reach that second fairway, and still allowing it to be perfectly playable for someone who only hits driver like 150yds off the tee.   Yeah it looks like 4iron aimed at that inside edge of the right bunker is the play there, especially if you don't expect a 20mph tailwind again. If it is down wind again, 5iron would be just fine too, it'd still get you inside 150yds for your approach.  Keep in mind tee marker locations too, you measured that one from the back so if those tee markers are moved all the way towards the front of that box then 5 iron is probably best just to be sure that right bunker is never in play.
    • Day 1: worked on my drill for my arms.
    • Hit my tee shot just into the penalty area and barely found it. Swung hard just in case I hit it. It was slightly downhill with a heavy tailwind. I don't actually hit my 9i 170 yards.
