I'm working on the following items:

1.  Follow through - I have a tendency to stop my swing and not allowing the momentum to bring the club up around my body.

2.  Weight shifting - I'm learning to get the weight to my right heel during backswing and then starting to shift my weight just before the beginning of my swing.

My right hand moves at the top of my swing and makes me go a little wild.   Probably costs me 3-7 shots per round.

Trusting what I got. I think too much. I have a fundamentally sound swing but I'm always trying to make it better & by doing so I screw up what I got.

I need to add this to my list as well. I hit the sweetspot 99% of the time on the range...at the course is a different story though lol

Tru dat. Me too, and that's when my problems start. If I hit a shot on the course a little off, I start analyzing what I did wrong & try to correct it on the next shot. Can't do that on the course. I have to learn to 'practice' golf on the range & 'play' golf on the course.

As I have said in another thread I am working on hitting the tee ball straighter. We found something in some video this week that I think is causing me some of the problems with the driver. I am letting the right elbow fly just a bit. I have been working for the past 3 days on getting that right elbow connected on the downswing, it seems to be helping.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I went to the driving range lastnight and I'm seeing some progress.  I'm definitely getting the weight shifted to my back heel on my back swing.   Making sure I don't shift my BODY when I do this.  I'm slowly getting to where I can shift the weight on the swing and follow through.  I was using the 7 iron and I swear I'm hitting it farther than I was before.  I purchased 3 lessons from a driving range that focuses on training people

http://www.bumblebeehollow.com/about.html

I used one lesson last weekend.  I'm going to use the last two lessons on my putting and chipping.  I feel like I'm getting more and more comfortable with my irons.  I still need lots of work with the woods and driver.  My son will be driving next year and I think I'll have more freedom.  If I can get my short game tightened up a good bit I may consider signing up for the AM Tour.

I second that!  Back in high school I did a drill where I would putt around the world from 3"-6" with 5-6 golf balls.  I haven't done this in years and it has killed my game.  I plan to start this up again.  The way I did it back then was to play 5-6 golf balls from 3" and keep putting until I made them all in a row and then move to 6" and do it all over again.

My shortgame has gone to hell in the last couple years.  I also need to work hard on my chipping and under 100 yards game.  As for driving accuracy, since switching back to Nike One Tour balls (I got them from Knet so they are used) my drives are finding the fairway again so no need to work on that, thank god!

This seems to be an ongoing work in progress with me.

Next year I'm going to plop down $299 for the unlimited driving range membership.  There's a driving range about 8 - 10 min from my house.  I need to be at the range every other day if not every day.   I think I'm starting to get obsessed about this damn game.

People are going to hear me at the range "Yessss my precious...."

Still working on making more solid contact with my irons.  I've found that if I shorten my backswing I don't have as much chance to get the club out of position at the top.  I had been hitting the ball with an outside-in swing and hitting the ball toward the toe.  I had had to address the ball with the ball aligned with the hosel to hit near the sweet spot but with the short backswing I can line up with the ball on the middle of the club, and that's where I hit it!  I had a good range session yesterday except for the 95 degree heat and 90% humidity just kicking my ass.  Finally, tomorrow should be the first day in more than two weeks where rain isn't predicted.  Last year we had a drought, this year we have a lot of local street flooding.  At least the grass range looks and plays better than it ever has.

right now I'm working on learning to break 100.

I felt like I had great strides until this morning when I shot a 62 on 9. I literally have never played this poorly in my entire life. My coach gave me a new grip, alignment, posture, and follow through and I have been hitting the ball better then ever before. For some reason today I just couldn't even hit the ball.

It was hot and muggy and I felt rushed as I was playing with a older man who was riding in a cart. I don't know if that sense of being rushed is what made me play so poorly. Looking back on it I dont remember actually "thinking" about any shots. I didnt even finish a lot of puts. It was almost like I was just out there to walk around.

Anyone else ever deal with something like this? What did you do to get around it? Thanks

Consistent contact with hybrids/irons. I'm likely to have a beautiful drive or a frighteningly terrible one, I'm learning to deal with the drive, but after teeing off..........man it's rough. Once I'm 75yds in, I have a pretty solid chance of a good hit. I'm just missing all of my irons. Every time, 3 foot off the ground, shanked to my left, hooking to my left. :(
