My Edel putter headcover falls off very easily

I received my Edel putter a month or so ago. I love everything about the club, except the darn headcover. It looks cool and seems to be very high quality. The problem, though, is that it falls off VERY easily. I golfed on Saturday and noticed the headcover wasn't even on the putter when I got my clubs out of the trunk. After making a phone call, I was happy to hear that someone turned it in at a range I hit balls at the day before. I didn't even get the putter out during that range session... During rounds, I will walk (I carry my bag) with my right arm holding it in place so it doesn't fall off.

I think there are two reasons it is falling off. First, the headcover can be fairly easily removed without undoing the magnetic clip that secures it. Second, the "neck" of the headcover is pushed up by the slot it goes into in the bag.

Has anyone else with an Edel putter run into this? Is there something I can do to make it better?

I'm at a point where I may just purchase a cheap headcover for the putter that will be secure and keep the Edel headcover at home. I figure I'd rather not use it, but still own it, than lose it forever (which is likely to happen if I continue to use it).

I've got one of  the older, black headcovers with velcro - it stays on.

You might try one of these:

I don't have an Edel yet, but I do have a similar type cover for my putter (with magnets instead of velcro) and have the exact same problem with it coming off easily.

I've had similar issues with the cover coming off of my putter... the biggest reason was that because my putter is fairly short the cover would get pushed up by the slot it was in and come off. Since I use a 14 way bag, all I did was cut a one of those club tubes to the right length for the bag and shoved a rolled up sock down to the bottom so that the putter sits up higher in the bag. Now the putter cover doesn't rub against the bag and come off.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I like the solution you came up with, Tristan. I think I'll try it. What type of sock did you find worked best? I'm thinking tube sock for it's durability, but I also like the cllassiness of one of my navy blue work socks :)

My putter cover has velcro and I have the same problem.  I thought those magnets would be better, but I guess not.  I think Tristan is right on with the reason why this happens--the cover gets pushed up because its shorter.  I might try tristan's solution.

It drives me crazy because my putter gets dings in it when the cover falls off and it starts clacking against the other clubs.  I don't care so much about other clubs, but I like to keep my putter looking pretty.

The one issue I originally had with my solution is that there was enough friction between the grip and the inside of the tube that it would pull the tube up when I took out the putter. I solved this by sticking some velcro on the outside of the tube at the top and the matching piece on the inside of the slot that the tube was in.

I've played two rounds with my putter in a club tube and it has worked like a charm. Thanks for sharing your very effective solution!
