Brand new to this forum but looking to get more into golf and take it more seriously so figured joining a forum would help somewhat

In the market for a 3 wood as the one im currently using is probably 15 years old. FWIW its a callaway X tour or something like that. I am a high handicapper (usually shoot between 92-97) and not looking to spend a ton of money. I have seen the Adams Speedlne LP, The Adams Speedline Fast, and the Adams Speedline Fast 12 and i havent been able to figure out the difference between them. I am assuming one is newer than the other? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as well as suggstions for a forgiving 3wood that is easy to hit off the deck. FWIW i also saw a Cobra mens Amp on sale as well.

Thanks

When you test out different 3Ws, also try some 4Ws. Golf Digest reported that the average golfer can hit a 4W more reliably - and sometimes farther - than a 3W. A little extra loft really helps your launch.

Something to consider.

Off the grass it doesn't get much better than an Adams Tight Lies 3 wood. I got mine (the older version) for $70 from rockbottomgolf. Ernie Els uses the older version (with a non-stock shaft). The newer version has a blue "speed slot" on the bottom and seems to go a bit further.

As the season winds down I'm playing less and getting more inconsistent so I'm going to take my mini driver and 20* hybrid out the bag and put the 3 wood back in and tee off with the 3 wood. Less mental anguish more fun.

I know Costco has Adams fairway woods / hybrids at a good price. Can't remember the exact price since I'm not in the market. I have a Ping K15 3 wood that is easy to hit off the deck. I have another 3 wood that I can't, so I know there's a difference.

Adams fw woods are becoming harder to find in my area as of late. All ive seen in stores was the tight lies. They were on sale for a steal of 39.99 new. I bought and re sold it two days later. DONT LAUGH, but i bought a wilson killer whale 4 wood brand new from academy for 49.99 and like it much better. Id strongly suggest a four wood esp considerring your looking for forgiveness and something you could hit off the deck. Good luck!

Thanks for the responses guys.  I ended up getting a 2014 Tight Lies Tour 14.5* 3 wood for <$40 on ebay with shipping (brand new reputable distributer)  I was hesitant about getting the tour version as i feel it will be harder to hit, ...

Tight Lies FWs have the low profile head advantage, which helps get the ball up.

NOTE : If you find you're popping the ball up on tee shots, you might consider fluffing the grass and setting the ball down on it, rather than using a wooden tee. (This bothers some players with low-profile FWs.) But, if you do not have pop-up problems, ignore this note.

Like what has already been posted. Try a 4W first before buy the 3W.

I got the Adams Tight Lies Ti 3w. I doubt there is much difference between mine and yours other than aesthetics (and that I paid more).

Tee shots I just drop on the ground and smack. Get great launch from this club, and so it's very easy to hit off the deck. While I liked my Taylormade 3w (understatement), I have to say this one blows it out of the water on forgiveness.
