Many years lurker, first time poster so go easy on me please 🙂

I'm 6'3" built like a line backer.

I picked up S&T when it first hit the market and had great results.  Over time, I tried different things, but kept on coming back to it as I felt I could make the best contact that way and get out of my own head.  I am committed to the process and am not looking for an alternative.  This forum has helped me fine tune the hip slide and get it in my head (I was doing the top body slide with my hips and am still unlearning that).

This year I switched to single length clubs and am very happy with the decision.  I'm curious if anyone else is playing single length and S&T and what changes you may have adopted as a result of the single length clubs?  I assume the ball position is now always two balls from left heel, regardless of club, but I would be curious what others are trying?  I only get to get out about once a week, so i don't have enough rounds in this year to reflect yet on any major developments.  What I am noticing is I'm getting much longer distances with these clubs (e.g. my 7 iron goes about 175 now which is pretty good for me, my last set were apex pro and that 7 carried about 160ish at best)

We have topics on single length irons and S&T, but I don't know of anyone off hand who has experience with both. I imagine the number of golfers in that part of the venn diagram would be quite small.

I don't play stack & tilt but I use single lengths. I bought the Cobra F9 One Lengths this year. They're stronger lofted than my standard clubs were plus the faces are more lively. I got a carry of about 150 with my old 7 iron and with these I get about 160. It's ridiculous. I don't know what you bought but Cobra and Sterling both recommend that you play every one length club like a 7 iron (for Cobra) or if you bought the Sterling Irons it'll be an 8 iron. You don't make any swing adjustments for each club. The clubs will take care of the distance for you. If you buy into that you'll have success with them.

12 rounds in and my handicap is about 18 right now.  I can say i've had the most pure of iron shots many times.  Thanks for the S&T link, I think I read the first 32 pages over the course of a few weekends.  helped me a lot.  My best round was a score of 90 on a relative good track by us but typically now stabilizing in the high 90s.

I don't have the forged version.  I have regular cavity back and I play them 1" longer with pro modus 120 shafts and a jumbo grip.  When i hit them well, I can get the 5i- 195-200, 6i about 180ish, 7 165-170. 8, 150-160, 9i 140-145 and the PW goes about 125-130.

I'm watching a lot of the 5sk videos now to see how to blend it all.  This is such a great site 🙂

    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
    • This is my opinion as well. I would love to see the LPGA take the lead on this.    This.
    • I agree in general. The one way in which the viewer will notice the pace of play is just that "it's been an hour and Nelly Korda or Scottie Scheffler have only played four holes." Or if for some reason they show a lot of shots of players just standing around when they could be showing golf shots. But I think Andy Johnson said it most recently/best, playing fast is a skill, too. I would love for pro golfers to play faster. You'd see the players you want to see hit more shots in the same time than they do now. So I don't disagree with the pace of play stuff, and hope they can find ways to do it. Heck, the LPGA should leap at the chance to differentiate itself in this way, IMO. So: I stand by what I said in that the TV viewer really doesn't notice much about pace of play. It's rare when they do. I support increasing the pace of play wholeheartedly. But my top five reasons don't include TV ratings or viewership.
