I currently hit MP-52  7-PW and a TM M2 4-6. I am about a 13 handicap. I love the control and feel I have in the green with the MP-52s. The club faces are getting pretty worn and grips need to be replaced. Which MP-18s are the closest to the MP-52s. I understand it’s best to go hit them.

MP52s are cavity backs, so I'd assume the MP18 SC.

If you like your MP52s that much you can probably find a set on eBay or something.

I just got a set of MP-54’s on eBay. Wow. I finally understand the hype about Mizuno irons. I’ve never been able to hit many of them as they don’t cater well to lefties. But I love these irons!

There are a few sets on eBay right now.

Thanks for all the responses. Yeah I have looked on ebay at both. I figured if i’m gonna replace what I have I may as well upgrade. I also called Mizuno and was the the MP-18 SCs would be the closest, though they stopped making them as they are about to introduce a new line. Just in case anyone else was wondering or searching same as me. Thanks again.

    • Day 2 (20 Jan 26) - Similar work as yesterday - started with lead hand solo drills with the 50°, followed by series of pitches and chips utilizing full setup.
    • Hey, thanks for the feedback. I do lift weights but I’m also adding yoga or Pilates for mobility and flexibility to my routine.
    • Day 18: 2026.01.20 Continuing work on arm raise during backswing. Starting to feel less weird, especially the slower I go. Looking like a busy week so might be the weekend before I can hit some balls.
    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
