Doctor Who also just started. The first episode was very good, but the show can be hot and cold. Wallander was on last night, 2 more episodes.

Homeland is great. You won't be disappointed.

I'm 7 episodes in now (they left the cabin, Aileen, well, I'll just say she made an identification so I don't spoil anything). Great show. It started out a bit corny (and it bugs me that the pilot's "I'm just making sure we don't get hit again, I missed something once before, I can't, I won't let that happen again," "It was ten years ago, everyone missed something that day," "Everyone's not me," line is in the opening sequence, because that's really corny), but it's gotten pretty awesome just over halfway through the season.

Yea, I think any time they're tackling terrorism and such, you're walking a fine line. It's interesting you think that line was corny ... I guess I can see that. I do like the idea of CIA agents blaming themselves so passionately though. But yea, corniness factor... I can see that too.

This comedian Hannibal Buress had a pretty funny joke about Homeland on Conan recently (no spoilers). Skip to 3:15 to see the joke. No clue who this guy is, but he made me laugh a few times.

I still need to start Friday Night Lights one of these days. Saving that for a rainy day.

Are you watching me? Where are the cameras? I'm being 100% truthful when I say that I just watched that stand-up set last night (I've seen Buress a few times on the John Oliver New York Stand-Up Show, and I watched a few of his sets on YouTube). Get out of my internet history! :-P (Buress did do a great set on Craig Ferguson back in 2007 that's on YouTube, and his most recent album is pretty solid. He's got an interesting demeanor but knows how to emphasize the right parts of the joke when he talks.) I think it's really just that line (that they replay in the opening every single episode) that I find corny. Pretty much everything else is great. And I'm only on episode 8 (Achilles Heel), but the Tom Walker stuff is awesome. FNL is a great show, but it does take a certain mindset. It was a weird show in that football fans might not like the drama parts, and drama fans might not like the football parts (you have to be able to at least tolerate both). But it had some truly great moments, especially in the first 3 seasons, and managed to completely turn over it's cast once the originals graduated, which is no small feat. Matt Saracen is awesome. You will have to mute it every time Minka Kelly speaks though, which can be tough.

Yea, you were in the other room getting coffee while I pretended to cry a little bit. That's when I made my move.

I know this is the Breaking Bad thread, but holy ****ing shit, I just finished the first season of Homeland. Awesome ending.

Season two starts in like two weeks or something too. That, plus Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Walking Dead, some other random shows -- and the NFL of course -- should tie me over until BB returns.

Sundays are a frighteningly slothful day for me this time of year.

Never heard of Fringe... But many of those on your list are solid.  So I'll check it out.

I still fast forward through almost every conversation that involves Skyler (or is it Skylar?). Can't stand her. Those scenes are SOOOOO SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW.

Haha that's fair. Yea.... I'm not about to defend Skylar.

Mildly funny this thread would pop back up today, since I just started rewatching it in preparation for the final 8 episodes. Sklyer has some decent lines in the fourth and fifth season, but yeah, most of her scenes drag. And none of her story arcs (Ted, the stuff with Marie, etc.) are particularly memorable. Come to think of it, the show's been pretty bad with the few women it does have in general, except maybe Jane, though that character's so archetypal I doubt it was particularly challenging.

While I don't disagree that she has become pretty damn annoying, be careful doing that because you risk missing things like this ...

The last line of this scene is pretty good too: (Obviously, spoiler alert should be implied since it's a video that you don't have to click play on.)

Right ... And I figured that since it was from a show that is 8 months (or something like that) old and posted in a thread with said show as the title, that if you are a fan of the show yet not caught up, and are perusing this thread and clicking links willy nilly, then you are playing with fire and probably deserve to get burned. :)

    • Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
    • Day 111 - Worked on my grip and higher hands in the backswing. Full swings with the PRGR.
    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
