So I actually made it out to the course today for 9 holes (at Madden), and my game is still somewhat intact after 3.5 weeks off. The rib feels fine too, so I can't wait for Saturday. Lol at the Larry comment.

Madden has an outing tomorrow morning. Shall we try Community?

Tagging @mcanadiens@Bonvivant @Jeremie Boop

The thought of playing the Hills makes me sick to my stomach, but do what you gotta do.

Obviously, I have a monetary interest in keeping it on City courses, but will show up if it is in reasonable distance.

Community has an outing too. I could get 10:45, but that would be a slooooow round following that.

Will check Sh... Kittyhawk.

Hmm. The old e-mail suggests Duck's quota game is 10:15 on the Hills. Supposing everyone wanted to cough up $10 extra, we could play in that.

You'd be right about that 10:45 time being slow. Duck is brutal and he would figure to be in the last group off.

Also the fact that is at Community strongly suggests a shut out at Kittyhawk.

We are setup to join the Big Quota Game. It’s a $10 buy in (donation in my case) in addition to the greens fee. Tee times start at 10:15, but I’ll be getting there by 9:30 at so.

What course is that at? Will it be a new one for me?

Hills course at community @Jeremie Boop. Not sure what a big quota game is but it should be fun either way.

You are spotted so many points based on your handicap. Then you have to make it to 36 points to be “in the money”. You get 1 point for a bogey, 2 for par, 3 for birdie and 5 for an eagle. Those are gross, not net. It’s pretty fun. It’s “real golf” too (by the rules).

Oh cool. So what if I don't have an established handicap? Am I essentially going to be put in as scratch or something? Am I even allowed to play without a handicap? I'm not worried about the extra 10 or trying to get it back, just curious.

An estimated handicap will work. If you claim to be a 20 and shoot in the 70s, they will probably call BS. @mcanadiens has been called a sandbagger once or twice in this. 🤣

    • Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
    • Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back) (aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)
    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
    • Day 288 6-17 Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.
