I would be interested in thoughts and opinions on these wedges. I currently have Vokey SM6’s. I play Ping G15 irons along with a PW, GW and 54*sand wedge. The Ping SW does not work for me at all. Being a HHC player the Vokey’s are difficult for me to hit also.

I was thinking of getting rid of the Vokey’s, leave the Ping SW out of the bag and just get a 56-12 CBX-2.

I have one of the original model CBXs, 58 bent to 59. It was a gift and when I received it, I was planning on getting rid of it, as I like smaller blade style wedges. However I took it out to the range and played around with it on the short game area and kind of fell in love with it. It is my go to "get out of the s--t" club around the greens. In a divot, hard pan, deep grass, I can just swing it and know that it will end up on the green with a chance at saving par. The worse the lie, the better it performs for me.

I ran a Cleveland wedge clinic a couple weeks ago and half the people there went with the CBX2 (several got chippers, so only 2 people got the RTX4).  The comments I heard were that they liked the feel and forgiveness more than the blades.  Between the RTX and CBX, it depends on your play style and what you want in your wedges.

I have a 45* Ping PW, a 50* Ping GW, so the CBX-2 would be for sand and rough around the green. I would get the 56-12, however most of our bunkers have very little sand, or are packed tight from rain. I just think it would be better for me being a high handicap player. Would the 10-11-12 degree of bounce be better for the conditions I described? All of my clubs are graphite, should I get steel or graphite?

Go graphite shafts and higher bounce wouldn’t hurt.

All of my clubs are -1”, so should I get this wedge the same, or isn’t that a big deal.

I wonder how hard it will be to sell my Vokey SM6, 54-08 M grind, 58-12 K grind being -1”? They are in near perfect condition.

As a high handicapper myself I use the Callaway Sure Out Wedge, 58*. I use it within 50 yards of the green, I'm able to pop it up over traps, and get out of the sand. I too play courses here in New York where the traps are sometimes like hard pan. Most of the time I'm able to pick it off and pop it up, (yes sometimes I skull it across the green, but...). I play graphite shafts but I use the steel shaft that came with the wedge, my 52 is also steel, I guess I'm just use to them.
