I really came away impressed with Henrik Stenson. Leonard played well so did Cink. Who do you feel will make large strides this year in earnings and rankings?

Two guys I like both sponsered by Ping Mahan and Cabrera. Obviously they both have names, but I think they can continue this year maybe one winning a major?

Cabrera's already won a major.

I don't think any new names are winning majors this year. Tiger's on and so is Phil. Maybe - maybe - Stricker can pull up a major and have some call it a comeback Now, 2009 is going to see some new winners. Cink, if he keeps this up this year and continues into next, may well win a major finally. And expect to see Anthony Kim in the winner's circle - this year in a non-major, next year in a green jacket.

As soon as I read the title of this thread I thought Hunter Mahan, I'm sure that's not a huge shot in the dark, but sitting at 35 in the world right now I am going to say that he'll reach top 10 and turn in a few victories this year. Major title....possibly, but if not this year next year we'll see him pulling in majors.

The other one is Aaron Baddeley, he'll get a real shot at a major and won't puke with an 80 this time around. I would like to see him pull down a green jacket, something his idol Greg Norman could not accomplish.

Are we only talking about huge strides forward? Because I've got a couple guys I think are about to take similar strides, only in the wrong direction. I think Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia are both going to realize their place in the world golf standings by season's end....and I don't think it is as high as they'd like.

My humble projections sure to be wrong....who you got?

Camillo Villegas will win this week's Honda Classic.

Adam Scott will win three times this year but will be remembered for losing to Tiger in extra holes at this year's British Open. Tiger will also repeat at the PGA.

My really crazy prediction is Matt Every winning enough on the Nationwide Tour to be promoted in 2008.

Lefty wins the US Open and repeat at the Players.

Justin Rose and Paul Casey will battle it out at the Masters with Casey winning by two strokes.

The player who will continue to make strides and finish third in the World Rankings is K.J. Choi.

Cabrera's already won a major.

Doesn't mean he can't win another one ( Cabrera ) I doubt Stricker wins a major. In his 18 year career he has 11 PGA wins I believe. He will be lucky to win a tournament.

I'm going for K.J. Choi. I've seen him make some dynamite shots recently.

There is already one young fellow already making huge strides this season in J.B. Holmes. He beat Phil in Phoenix and nearly took down Tiger Wednesday, so obviously he is making some pretty impressive strides. Not sure if he'll be this season's Charles Howell (started great out West, but played like garbage the rest of the way) or someone who will be at the top of leaderboards all season long.

Also, keep an eye on the German kid Martin Kaymer, he's played great so far in 2008, and has the potential to be the next big thing. With all things being considered, though, the year is shaping up to be another Tiger Woods masterpiece. This could potentially be one for the history books, folks.

Woody Austin. He has the most heart out of any of the players on tour. Hes not afraid like everyone else.

Anthony Kim is the first guy who comes to mind. He has showed flashes of brilliance and I think if he limits the bogeys he will win this year, maybe even more than once. Hard to say guys like Stricker and Choi who had big years last year. I like Paul Casey to threaten for a major this year too.

Brandt Snedeker and Boo Weekley will continue climbing the world rankings. Rory Sabbatini and Stuart Appleby are both looking pretty sharp so far this season...we'll see if they can keep it up.

I really hope Stenson and Baddeley can have good years this year. Both have made great starts.

And as he is one of my favourite golfers, I'm hoping Sergio can get that major.

Hi

well, firstly i would like to see David Duval make a proper comeback and attempt at playing this year on the PGA tour....currently, John Daly is doing ok and long may it continue..top 125 predicted for him.

Also, i would like to see Davis Love make a resurgance and get back to the player he was. Colin Montgomerie will win a major this year i think.

There are too many 'boring' players on the tour now-it would be nice to see some of the characters do better.

bb

I would love to be able to echo those sentiments that Montgomerie will win a Major this year but unfortunately it is not going to happen! There is more chance of Tiger going on a perfect season!

I think KJ Choi has a shot at a major this year. He is very consistent and has proven he can win. Stricker would be my wish, but he just doesnt seem to have enough enough to get it done. But then I think well Zach Johnson won the Masters. Zach is a good golfer don't get me wrong but I would have never guessed he would be worthy of a major....

Yeah. One of my friends at school and I were guessing last year how each of the Americans on the '06 Ryder Cup team would fare in the '07 majors. I don't remember how I guessed on most of them, but he will occasionally remind me of my prediction that Zach would miss the cut at the Masters.

Steve Marino has impressed me so far this season. He's 6 for 6 on cuts so far this year. I still like Anthony Kim. I think Justin Rose is going to become even more a big time performer than he already is, possibly ending this season at fourth, third or even second in the world rankings.
