I usually golf in a four some. I go with my father in law, his brother and his father. I like to distract them, just to beat them on the course. I put pink golf tees on my bag, so I know who takes them. This year I bought a hat that has hair hanging down on the back. Also bough some pink slazenger golf balls. I also have a exploding golf ball. Not sure how I am going to pull that one off. Any ideas?

I would tell the starter I wanted to be paired with some one else.

DBake, I just gave you positive rep for your response! I'm with you.

I gave him one too. I'd rather beat someone because I played better than he did, not because I was a pain in the butt.

I don't think that everyone realizes that we like to have FUN when we golf. The people I go with think this stuff is funny. Not annoying. I get the same kind of stuff from them. Its not always fun when you take it so seriuosly.

But...If I was to play a joke of my playing partner, I would tell the starter to assess a 1 stoke penalty for being late, just like they do in competition.

About the exploding golf balls there's a guy who shared how he pulled it off here on sandtrap thread a long time ago. If I remember correctly he volunteered to tee up (he asked for his friend's ball then switched it) by backing up/blocking his friend's view while he was doing it. Or when his friend thought he had lost his ball then he was like, "Hey it's right here in the (quite deep) rough". Make sure when you do it either way you set up the ball with no logo showing.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks fusion. You are the only one that actually understands where I am coming from on this. I am not the guy that likes to visit the beer cart every hole. Thats not my idea of fun. Sorry if everyone though this was a bad form. Better luck next time eh?

Undo the flap on the golf cart. Then watch them take off in the golf cart and their bag falls out. Be careful that they are not on a paved path because their bag will fall out on the pavement.

Put the cart in reverse in the middle of their swing so the beeper goes off.

The absolute worst, but it's really effective is in the middle of their swing put your golf club in between their legs, right in the crotch area. If they have a good sense of humor, they'll laugh it off. But they will be completely distracted the rest of the round. I swear, even Tiger would have a hard time breaking 80 after a couple of those.

At my brothers bachelor party they tried to get me with the exploding ball. I teed up and was about to address my ball when they said let's get a group photo. We all lined up with my back to my ball. Someone switched them out while I was not looking. Unfortunately for them the ProV1's at the time were more off white and this ball was bright white. I also tee up with the Titleist Logo Pointing down the line of my shot. I realized right away. It's too bad they didn't try it on someone else. They probably would have pulled it off.

I did show up with a sleeve of Pink Noodle ICE balls on my league night and bet all the guys I would shoot low net with a Pink Ball. I won by 3 shots and let them all know it.

I saw this one done b4... guy made a long putt and his buddy went to the hole and picked out his ball... told him he would be happy to tee up his ball for him on the next tee... schmuck did not notice the ball switch and boom..

One of the better pranks I have seen is a guy give a tee to someone. Not just any tee, it was a tee without a "hole/crater" on the top. It was completely impossible for the guy to balance the ball on the tee, and it was hilarious to watch him get frustrated.

my dad did this when i was chipping balls in to one of our sofa chairs.

it works. i pull back and think i see something, and whirl around....only do this if the person you play with has good humor, otherwise you will be left alone without a golf cart next time you play

I'm glad that you and your playing partners can have that kind of fun. I have seen clips from the past where even the pros did this sort of thing to each other. I.E. Lee Trevino pulling out a rubber snake on Jack Nicklaus on the tee box.

Because I could not think of how to "sneak" the exploding ball on to my partners tee, and because they just look fake... I really talked it up about the fact that I was going to SMASH my tee shot as hard as possible, really drill it, etc. I used the ball on my own tee after talking at length like this and then bang-poof up in smoke. The initial look on my partners face was priceless.

I wouldn't go as far as to touch someone when they are swinging, and I wouldn't go running around waving my arms to distract them...

But there is nothing wrong with using pink balls/tees, fake hair hats, etc.

I can't remember his name, but who is the pro that uses a pink shaft and always wears a pink shirt/hat? I think he is sponsored by Cobra...

Anyways, I remember an interview where they asked him why he wore pink. He said he likes to keep people asking questions. I'm sure part of this has to do with throwing his opponent off too.

Definitely yeah! Make sure you use driver with biggest head 460cc and wiggle it hard while it's at it. Tiger won't even break 100 if you wiggle it hard enough. LOL!

    • True, true. I should do that. He really did go off during that run, I remember now. Appreciate the context.
    • I am pretty sure it is this. Word probably got around. The reports coming out now is that he bombed some interviews, and when pressed about it during the interview just basically had a horrible response. His attitude is crap. There are stories about him throwing his players under the bus at Colorado. I get it, he's not playing behind the best O-Line or have the best weapons (outside of Travis Hunter). That is bad leadership, bad attitude.  Also, it could be his dad as well. Who would want Prime Time chattering.  Go watch the playoff run. Four top 10 teams. He was elite. The Penn State game happened with our starting left guard shifting to left tackle and going up against the 3rd pick in the NFL draft. He had two big mistakes early. The pick, which looked to be a defensive play call to trap that RPO quick out, and then the fumble off his knee. He won the game besides that.

    • Yea I admit too I had more of a 2nd round evaluation on him, where I wrote in my notes "Maybe Geno Smith" after watching a couple games. Too many screens, too many sacks, awkward throwing motion at times, low velocity at times. Too low. At other times though I thought he made some nice throws, hence why I thought he should've probably gone around round two. So to me the free fall is surprising to an extent, but of course, it all makes sense now that he's still sitting there. He probably bombed his interviews too, and I know almost nothing of his personality. I love sports betting, hence why I love following this stuff, but there's only so much I can know from the outside looking in. But yea, my 2nd round guess was smart to an extent, but also bad now that he's still on the board and it's pick 4.17 at the moment. I see. Thanks for the take, I know you watch every game of theirs.  I just watched some of the Penn State game and can see both the upside and why he's still available. But I can get on board as well that Howard has more upside than Sanders too. Tougher competition, showed some growth from K-State to Ohio State.  I guess the question marks with Howard are processing and accuracy. Yea especially for us as fans. We don't get to interview these guys or talk to their college coaches to get a better idea of what they'll be like to work with everyday. We don't know who will end up being more durable and whose body will just naturally break down over the next few years. Some guys are great talents who go to terrible situations too, who are poor system fits in failed regimes. Other guys hit the jackpot with the perfect role on a great team in a weak division. There are so many variables.
