Undo the flap on the golf cart. Then watch them take off in the golf cart and their bag falls out. Be careful that they are not on a paved path because their bag will fall out on the pavement.

man, I HATE that, Ive had my bag flap pulled and my driver hit the ground a couple times. That's taking it too far I think, because your clubs cab get ruined. I couldnt get too mad at the guy who did to me it though, beacuse he's the pro at the course and was letting me play for free.

I've pulled the untie the strap on the golf bag trick a couple times. I usually either made sure it was on grass or if they had really shitty clubs and didn't care what happened to them (lord knows they've been slammed into the ground enough times). It's embarrassing though if it happens in the parking lot with everyone watching.

If I had an exploding ball, I'd pull the trick after someone just loses a ball off the tee (OB, water, or woods) and wants to re-tee. When he asks for another ball toss the exploder to him, and let him hit it. (It would work with my buddies because as long as the ball's round and not too off color, they'd hit it.)

I reserve the pink ball for after someone's lost a ball/made a bad shot and wants me to give them another ball. Hitting the thing usually distracts them enough to make another bad shot.

I'm all for an occasional practical joke during a fun round, but if there is money on the table or its part of a tourny, or if the joke might cause me to hurt myself, such as touching me during my swing or throwing something at me, or might damage my clubs, well, you better prepare yourself for an ass kicking as my response.

Many years ago someone pulled the club between my leg while swinging routine on me and i jared my back badly as a result, was out of commission from life for 3 weeks. I have also seen people's bags fall off the cart, on grass, and had major damage to the clubs.

Remember, if you are going to pull a joke, you better be prepared for the consequences, such as a club up your ass.

To prevent the clubs from falling off the cart when your buddy undoes the strap you need to buy the Ogio Grom bag. It has a rubber strap that hooks to the cart to keep the bag from twisting and leaning while you ride. It saved me this past Summer when I was on my golf trip with my brother and his buddies. By the afternoon round on Saturday the beer has been flowing for hours and the fun is really starting. My partner and I drove off and his clubs stayed behind while mine were in the cart safe and sound.

If you have to do all this stuff to distract your competition, you must not be all that good. Honestly, I mean all this stuff seems pretty juvenile and I am only 18. Id rather not distract my competition, Id rather embarress them with my play on the course.

If you have to resort to these measures to try and beat your opponent it gets kind of sad.

I am all about fun, but what more fun do you need to have. Your already out playing golf.

For the exploding golf ball, just write something on the ball yourself, just try your best to copy the logo of the ball the person is playing, theyll have no idea.

Not to be a prick, but a lot of people on this thread need to remember the difference between "your" and "you're". Thanks.

Sorry that last thing I think of when I come onto a Forum ( besides my special spelling and grammar forum ) is grammar. If you cant tell the difference all by yourself and feel the need to correct someone on it - may I suggest the field of teaching.

Regardless of "what you think of," the simple truth is this: if you speak properly, your opinion will be given more weight and assigned more value by others. If you talk like a dumbass, people won't care as much about what you have to say.

And if it doesn't bother you that people don't care what you say or put much value in what you say, why participate in a forum at all? Now, back to topic, boys.

If people think less of your opinion by simple grammatical errors then maybe this isnt the right forum to be in. From what I have noticed this forum is more about nit-picking other peoples posts, as far as I can see.

Time to seek other options. And as far as talking like a jackass, I think thats just a stupid thing to say. I used your instead of you're. If people cant tell the difference and deal with it without having to post to the effect of correcting me, thats just a bit ridiculous.

That's the simple truth of the world. Plenty of people (rightly, IMHO) pick on George W. Bush for his many public speaking mistakes.

If you speak unintelligibly, you'll be regarded as less intelligent and thus of having less valid opinions. That's simply the way things are. Sorry to be the one to break it to you.
And as far as talking like a jackass, I think thats just a stupid thing to say.

Good thing nobody said that! Furthermore, my response wasn't aimed at you, necessarily. I was just pointing out the way the world works.

If you don't care about that, so be it. It won't change the way things are. Now, if we can get back on topic, that'd be great.

see, iacas? While we may not agree on the severity of hitting golf balls at birds, at least we agree on good grammar and spelling. Now, can't we find a middle ground and you let me keep the bird avatar this time? We can agree to disagree.

Any post that comments on good grammar should at least start with a capital letter.

    • My two cents? Don't. As a beginner that's interested in learning about the golf swing, you'll find yourself consuming a lot of information, most of which isn't even relevant to your own swing. You need to learn you can't think your way to a good golf swing. Focus on the one thing that you're working on and doing that on every swing, come what may. And remember, mishits happen.
    • Day 6 (7 May 24) - More work in the backyard focused on tempo in addition to setup.  Worked with 6 and 7 irons hitting hard foam balls - used the old MacGregor irons to mix it up a little.
    • No! lol. But they have to be in the right sequence to play mid-handicap golf or little better. Mostly. And even in that there is range/margin for error in the motions and positions that most normal humans can handle. It helps if you have a decent idea of how a golf club moves around the body like you would any other equipment sports (baseball and hockey might be the closest) After all, fairways are 40 yards wide. Don't overthink it. Be diligent in getting basics right. I will concede that it is harder than it sounds but it certainly is not exact angle/exact position/exact degree of bend/exact speed/exact facial expression, etc, every.... single.... time or the result is horrible death.
    • Looking to play in the Severna Park Golf league and it got rained out the first three weeks. I know the course is being renovated so it is not in great shape but the location is easy for me and I would love to meet some other golfers in my area. Anyone here in Maryland Annapolis area?
    • I like to look at the positives.  Overall you are fairly consistent down the center with most shots 20 yards or less off center.  On most fairways that should be in play.  Sure, you had some very short duds, but also if you look there is a good cluster in the 110-125 yard range.  Sure, we would all like to be longer, but knowing your typical shot is more important than trying to hit the 7-Iron 175 Yards.  Just take more club for longer shots and do not worry about it.  Your distances may increase as you improve over time so do not get caught up on that now.
