Single Golfer Scotland Trip April

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

I plan to visit and golf in/around St Andrews as well. I plan to be there during last week of July (around 26th).  Will be going solo as well, would be good to golf with company. I'm a 12 handicap.

I canceled it recently. I may try and go in September.

That’s a shame, September is a risk for the weather in sScotland but that’s part of the challenge!

  • Thanks 1

    • Yea, that is very low spin. I wonder what your angle of attack is compared to your dynamic loft at impact. Your launch angle is good. The spin rate is just way too low.  The type of ball influences spin rate more so on irons and wedges than driver. So, a range ball could cause some lower spin numbers. With your ball speed, you should be in the high 6000's towards 7000 rpm.  Could be the ball + golf shaft + how you swing
    • I don't know why, but I just enjoy watching this movie. I've probably seen it like a dozen times now. Maybe I don't over analyze it, and more so just enjoy the characters just getting fooled. Like, I don't nit pick movies much anyways, or if I know the surprise ending then I don't really care if some earlier plot stuff doesn't hold up as well.
    • The Double, a 2011 Richard Gere/Topher Grace film about a Russian assassin. Par. Better than I expected. The Usual Suspects, with my wife. Birdie. Almost an eagle, but it doesn't entirely hold up if you know the ending. There aren't that many little clues planted throughout, unlike some films of this type. And yes, I've been watching a lot of movies lately for some reason.
    • Range balls don't generally spin much, yes. I'd insist on a fitting with the same type of balls you use to play.
    • Late 30s, but prior to 2020, I hadn't done much weight exercises since about 2012.
