I have a Taylormade M3 driver, is the shaft spine aligned and "flo" setup. If yes and the spine is set at 12 o'clock position at 8 degrees, when I move it to 12 degrees does that not mean the spine is at a different position and will feel play different?

If it's not "flo" setup then it's a lucky dip if the shaft will play ok, has anyone setup identical shafts with the spine at different positions to test the effects and playability of those shafts dependent on their swing?

Could I do that with 7 irons and will that tell how to setup my driver?

Can I "flo check" with the grip and shaft adapter attached?

What make of shaft? Most shafts from good companies are pretty good now and don’t really need to be spine aligned. I would try it with the driver and see if you can feel a difference.

My shaft is, Project X 6...

Project X makes very good shafts. I wouldn’t think there would be an issue.

If you are saying that you have rotated the shaft 180 degrees to get from 8 to 12, then if you believe in the merits of flo, there is zero difference because you are returning to the same bend plane, just flipped over. The result would be the same. I would personally tell you never to worry about flo, spine, PURE in the first place, but that is for a different discussion.

Not 180 maybe 90/110, so why have adapters fitted? What's the point besides a marketing ploy, in my mind it suggests it's all a game.

No I don't believe that, I've read alot about customizing golf clubs. Thanks but I'm continuing my research, cheers...

    • Day 58: night putting session for about an hour. Started with lag putting and ended with putts inside 9’. I need to work on putts from 6-12’, but in a solid spot overall.
    • Birdied a different #6 today (incidentally, also a par-5, but not the same one on which I previously birdied).  Here's the funny thing though:  it's the par-5 that caused me to post my "how do I avoid bogeys?" on par-5s recently.  So I guess I still haven't parred that hole.
    • Day 20, May 24.  Played 18 today, very poor ball driving.  One GIR, and it was a 4-wood from the rough.  Several other instances of hitting a green on a full swing (and at least one full swing motion -- a 50% UW) that wasn't for GIR.   Still shot an 87 and even had a birdie (chip-in).
    • Welcome to TST.  I spent a bit of time in the UK but I had to look up Wagon Wheels.  Don't think I ever saw them.  Had to Google to see.  Couple similar items in US but Google says they are different. 😁
    • Day 264 5-24 Worked on getting chest through and arms down infront of chest. Contact isn't great yet but on video looking better.
