Do you like these more than your MP67s?

Did you do any tweaking to the lofts or lies?

Which item do you find to be more sweet? The bag with your name on it? Or the clubs?

I was reading something recently that said that you know you've arrived in golf when you have a staff bag with your name on it.

I went to our pro shop yesterday. Our pro had just received

his set of AP2s and the new, smaller staff bag with his name on it. The irons look better in person than in pictures and look great at address. The new bag is really sweet. He was pretty pumped, and I can understand why. Enjoy! I look forward to reading your thoughts on these irons.

The AP2's are the best new iron on the market. To see them they are stunning and look at. Adam Scott just took out his forged blades and is using the AP2's so that says a lot

Do you like these more than your MP67s?

I haven't hit the MP-67s. I've hit the AP2s and published my thoughts on those a few months ago (as you know).

Did you do any tweaking to the lofts or lies?

No - I'm a standard loft, standard lie, standard length guy. PX 6.0 shafts, New Decade Multicomp grips.

Alan got the AP1s (rather, I got Alan's). We already have enough pictures of them, so I didn't need to get more. I confirmed his specs and mailed them off to him today. He'll get them on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Look for full reviews of both around mid-April. We do have some Mizuno reviews to get out before then: the MP-T wedges, the Black Carbon putters, and the MP-600 driver.
Which item do you find to be more sweet? The bag with your name on it? Or the clubs?

How did you get that, if you mind my asking? Can you just buy one or...

The bag's just going to be an office decoration that holds a few putters and other clubs nearby. Titleist has sponsored our site for several years. I asked, they sent me one. It's the S82, I believe. Has the red on it. This one:

It's a sweet looking bag, but like I said, it'll mostly be used to store clubs for breaks (putters) or new clubs I've yet to take down to get pictures of and put into play.
Can't believe you got AP2's over MP67's...

I have both. And we publish reviews... so heck, last year I had Cleveland CG Reds in my bag for a few weeks. The contents of my bag change frequently - that doesn't always mean I like what I'm currently playing the most. And sometimes I forget to change my signature out too.

I didnt know you made the Nationwide Tour

Don't be a butt...

... and please stop with the hyperbole and/or statements of opinion as if they're pure fact. You're quickly becoming someone I want to ignore. Just take it down a notch wouldja?

If you're in Maryland, I doubt you were able to give them a proper demo, though.

What happened to your Mizunos?

They're in the basement along with all the other clubs.

Erik,

Have to agree on the AP2's i just picked mine up today and I'm glad i did not pass judgement based on pictures they look totally different in person. The top-line and sole are slightly larger than my 735 cm's but i don't think it will be an issue. Can't wait to hit New Smyrna Beach FL in a couple of weeks to put these into play.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
