Why do you prefer AP2 over the mizunos, if you mind my asking?

I haven't even hit the Mizunos. Read back in this thread - the contents of my bag rotate not only based on what I want to play but based on what reviews I have coming up.

The AP2s are being reviewed. The MP-67s are not. If I like the AP2s enough I may not even hit the MP-67s for quite some time.
what makes you say that, we the AP1, AP2, ZM, and ZB's in.

I said a proper demo, as in hitting them off grass in reasonable weather conditions. You probably hit them off a mat indoors, perhaps into a net or a 70-yard-long dome. That's not a "proper" demo and you definitely can't determine how a club feels hitting it off a mat.

Should you ever find yourself in need of, oh, I don't know - someone to clean out your basement. Look no further. I'm just here to help

I cleaned out a lot of stuff last year. You missed it. I had about 20+ sets of irons, drivers, putters, etc. I have a pretty small inventory to start the year this year.

March 27-31 I'll be in North Carolina. This will comprise the bulk of my review time with the AP2s. I hope to publish the review around tax time... (April 15).

What I haven't told Erik is that if he doesn't let me have them, I'll strand him at the airport.

All kidding aside, I'm very, very curious to see what these are like. I'm sure I'll pass on a few thoughts this weekend.

Fairways and Greens.

Had a practice round or two with them. VERY solid clubs. I can't quite hit them as low as I'd like sometimes, but they feel great - better than I originally thought. A welcome trade.

Full review in about two weeks.

I'm going back and forth between these and the AP-1's. I have only been able to hit the demo 6 irons so far. I'm waiting for it to warm up and dry out some to get a better idea on how I hit them.

I'm currently playing Callaway x-18's and I wonder how the Titlest will compare distance wise? I also have trouble hitting the Callaways low.

Why do you like them over the blades you have played(in general)? What made you switch?

Looking foward to a review, not like I would buy a brand new set or anything, but I like club reviews.

What made you switch?

I haven't switched. I've said this at least twice now: I'm playing these so that I can review them.

I went ahead and told the pro at the club to order me a set. I ended up ordering the 5.0 shaft and 2 deg upright. Hopefully they will be here in a week or two. I couldn't tell any difference between the 5.0 and 5.5 so I went with the softer shaft. I'm not a long hitter so I figure the softer shaft wouldn't hurt.

4 days ago i picked up my ap2 irons with project x 5.5 shaft

I have just returned to golf 4 days ago aswell after being out of the game for 5 yrs which i was a 4 handicapper before i stopped.

still trying to get my form back but i really like how they feel. I seem to beable to get more height with them Lovely looking clubs and i ditched the Pitching wedge as am carrying 3 vokey wedges instead

So far so good am really impressed with these irons and i really hope i can get my game back very soon as am hooked on the game again.

The only thing i noticed with these that the loft on the clubs are a wee bit stronger than most oter clubs on the market so might take a wee bit to work out your yardage again for the set but be good to hear your views on these clubs and will update my review on them as soon as i improve

Driver: 909 D2 8.5 Degree - Red Pro launch shaft
Irons: AP2's 3-9 irons
Wedges: Vokey spin milled 48/54/60 degrees

really? I thought that they were at tour-level loft. the PW is 47 degrees.

And due to the tungsten in the sole, they launch a tad higher than the musclebacks I've used which have a 48° PW.

They're pretty traditionally lofted. A degree stronger than pure "traditionally lofted," but the degree is more than made up for by the weight in the sole.

Finnaly hit them the other day at the range. I personally did not like them at all. I used to play the old dci's and loved them. Switched over to a more forgiving club the last 2 years sure glad i did. Good luck to you with them. Seems to hit a little harder than i liked. The pure shots felt great though. Just not as forgiving as i expected with all the hype around them.

Just got fitted today - tried everything there (cobra and titleist) and these felt and performed the best...
Got .5'' longer, 2*Upright, X5.5 shaft - they are simly amazing clubs :)

Pity about the 4 week wait - even though they just came out in Australia today :(

Saw some in the pro shop this morning. The stick on decal on the back doesn't look nearly as bad as I had expected. Nice looking irons. A lot of technology there, but mainly hidden. Top line not too thick.

I love living in Australia - just checked the Titleist website and the AP2's price dropped from A$209 to $195!!!

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
