Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster.  What is the accepted technique to repair an iron when the head is coming off?  I sent back my M6 PW and 7i to TM for such a repair. After less than two months the PW head was coming off again.  And I noticed the 7i was hitting short, now I know why.  The shaft was cut down to the length of a PW or 9i.

Am I crazy or nit-picky? But this doesn't seem to be the way to repair a head coming off???

Picture below shows 6i, short 7i, 8i 9i

Where did you send these?

They screwed up, big time, and you should get a refund. Particularly for the 7-iron at wedge length.

Also, how did you not notice the 7-iron was a wedge length?

That is not being nit picky at all. That is a huge mistake that I really cannot believe TM would make. I would contact TM. They have great customer service and will make it right. Especially with such a silly mistake

Let me be clear too: I read that you sent them to TaylorMade, but I have such a hard time believing they goofed this badly.

Contact them and I’m sure they’ll take care of you if it was TaylorMade.

My only question is where these clubs custom built for you and are perhaps an inch and a half longer than standard? Then when you sent the 7 iron back is it possible they put a standard length 7 iron shaft in it?

Because that's the only way I can see this sort of thing happening. Even then it's a major screw up which they need to correct.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

The set was bought a 1/2inch short from TM and was "repaired" by TM.  Really kicking myself I didn't see the shorty 7i post repair sooner.  Just crazy

Send them the photo. They should fix it for you. It looks like they grabbed the wrong golf shaft off the shelf. Not sure if they reused the ones you had or had to replace one due to damage.

They will still take care of it. They replaced a whole set of irons for me one time that I bought used.
