I'm looking for a few tips on this because I'm never really that pure in my contact here.

On the uphill lies, I generally choke down on the club a little more so I don't get a fat shot, and open the club face a little because I'm under the impression you tend to pull the shot here.

On the downhill lies, I generally just bend my knees a little more, and close the club face because I believe you tend to push or fade your shots naturally here.

Are these assumptions correct? And would anybody have additional advice on how to safely get out of these situations and still pull of an accurate shot.

Try to keep your shoulders level with the slope as well. Make sure you shift your weight up hill, you have to try a little harder than normal. VJ actually practices uphill lies to get his weight shift ingrained.

How do you like your Nike 3 wodd by the way?

Weight shifted uphill for both ball positions?

And I love the 3 wood. I got it off of eBay about 2 weeks ago, slapped a Golf Pride grip on it and it's working out great. I tested many many 3 woods as I'm progessively replacing a starter set I bought 5 months ago when I started playing. This worked the best for me.

I agree with The Gill. Keep your shoulders parallel the with gradient.

Sam goes with feet below feet and above feet. Essentially, what your trying to do is create the same swing by altering club length, shoulder angle and allowing yourself to consider that natural left/right & right/left shot shape that comes with these shots.

The only thing you have to do is open or close the face..Trust me--change nothing in your stance or setup. The ball is already on its side--so whenever you hit the ball--there is natural spin from the slope...just open or close your face based on the lie and you will see consistency

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

As others have stated, you need to be parallel with the slope. As for ball below and above your feet, you should try this:

Above your fee: Weight is on your toes, choke down on the club to compensate for the lie. The ball is going to come out towards the left, therefore, your alignment should be right of your target.

Below your feet: Dig into the ground with your body. Try to imagine sitting and your stance should be slightly wider than normal. You want stabilization as you don't want to fall towards the ball. Don't change ball position. You should align yourself left of the target as the ball flight is going to be towards the right. The club should be held at it's normal length as choking down might result in a thin shot.

Hope this helps.
