Superspeed Golf - Is There a Flaw?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

Im about to play my first round of golf for 2 years in a weeks time, and ive been working with the superspeed golf swing sticks to loosen me up.

Problem is, how useful are these sticks? its easy to swing anything fast when technique is irrelevant and theres no ball.

How effectively does this translate to a real golf swing?

I thought it had more to do with conditioning and not swing mechanics?

Thats kind of my point. Dont you run the risk of ruining your mechanics because you arent hitting a ball.

I could swing the sticks massively fast, but it wouldnt create a good golf shot

By your logic, practice swings can ruin your swing as well.

Learning to swing fast is a skill. You can work on speed and then work it into your swing over time.

Aren't the superspeed sticks meant to increase your potential swing speed? Is that your goal? Were me I'd be aiming to make good contact since you haven't played in 2 years.

Given these facts, I doubt speed is your primary concern right now.

    • Welcome to TST.   Nice introduction.   We're glad you've joined.
    • 7th hole hcp 1 (450 yard par 4 playing level) hit my driver about 320 leaving myself 130 in. High draw over the trees and back to the fairway where it widens. Missed the small green just left and nearly chipped it in for birdie. Then proceeded to magnificently miss the comeback putt for par.

    • I honestly have no clue what my first scoring round was, given I was around 12 and that was over 30 years ago. Watching your swing video, for someone who has only played their fourth round, you either have a natural athletic aptitude or have been practicing a lot before going out on the course. I understand the double par limit, especially if you are playing with others, but over time you will need to play and count every shot.  I find it really focuses my game to do so.
