Jerry Foltz who followed her for 2 days, and said she had 5 wedges in the bag, only 3 headcovers at the Open.

@azgreg both of your sources only add up to 13 clubs.

1) Driver

2) 3-wood

3) 4-hybrid

4-8) 5,6,7,8,9 iron

9-12) 46, 52, 56, 60

13) Putter

Vokey doesn’t make a 64 in the SM8 model. So that’s out as the 14th club.

In my opinion, that's way too many high lofted clubs, dude. Depending on the loft of your 3w and 7w, you're going to have a huge gap between 3w and 7w or 7w and 5i.

On the flip side, if you're playing a relatively short course (or a further forward tee box) where you're hitting mostly driver-wedge all day, then I suppose this setup makes sense.

I suppose your reasoning is you want to avoid partial wedge shots. For me, I'd rather have more options at the long end of the bag than more wedges. It's far easier to finesse wedges to hit those partial distances while keeping spin on the ball to hold a green. I have yet to find a shot that I cannot do with my pw (48*), sw (54*), or lw (60*) to make me want to get another wedge. I simply do not see any upside to having more wedges than this. It's much harder to finesse long clubs to hit partial distances because if you finesse them, they tend to come out lower and with less spin--good luck holding the green. That's exactly why I have more longer clubs; I want more full shots in so as to keep my height and spin up on those long approaches. Or alternatively, if I'm playing a course with a lot of trouble, a new course I'm not familiar with, or if I just want to hit it "where I can see it" and keep the ball low off the tee, I'll put in my driving iron (Titleist u510 16*) instead of my 5w. But again, as I stated above, if you're on a driver-wedge course, then this may not matter to you.

I kinda like the extra wedge, from the fairway I don't have trouble to get the right distance for my shorter  shots, and could use basically a pw or sw, but if I need to get there from the rough I struggle with those 3/4 shots and I tend to close the clubface and loose the ball to the left a lot. For me my setup is the best possible. I don't have any gaps in there.

I think there may be a limited edition model in 64 degrees? Possibly called the Jimmy Walker or something like that?

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

    • +12 47, and never lost a ball or had a penalty. Got the snap hooks off the tee for the first 3 holes. So, playing the punch out game. Probably had like 20 putts. Bad short game day. The greens were weirdly firm but slow. I just don’t get spin out of the rough. I had a SW, with good height hit middle half of the green and end up almost off the back of the green. I know what I was doing with the full swing. Bad habits creeping in.
    • 9 years and counting. Lil chipped paint here and there but still going strong. Also have an 18 deg driving iron that I got a couple of years ago which is doing well too. @iacastried it and I think he liked it.
    • For PING to assemble and ship it? It's a 3H. Yea, the new club has more loft. How do you like that, 2H?
    • Then go on gitchu a brand spanking new 2H son.. what are you waiting for?
    • I may not always hit a good shot but I always make sure the pre-shot routine is done.
