Any thoughts on who may win the Cup this year?

I am obviously a Canadiens fan, and am excited by their performance this year; for the first time in a long time, they are the top scoring team in the league. I think they have as good as a chance as anyone in the East. As well, typical Habs fan, I feel history is on their side They won a cup in every decade since the league's inception, so we need one this year or next to keep the streak alive. As well, they have a rookie goalie this year in Carey Price, and in the past they have won the Cup with rookie goalies: Patrick Roy in '86 and Ken Dryden in the early 70's. It may be a pipe dream, but I'm hoping

In the West I like either the Ducks to repeat or the Sharks to finally make a final.

Ill pick the Ducks but only because of the movies. And i would pick the gulls if they were still around, just because they are a san diego team. shows you how much i know about hockey! the only players i know in the nhl are crosby and ovechkin.

Im born and raised in Pittsburgh..I want the Penguins to win with all my heart...I picked the rangers over the flames before the season started....but now after seeing Montreal--i will pick them to win it all--too much speed with Koivu and Kovalev is a beast when he wants to play...that 360 backhand 2 weeks ago was rediculous

The Habs are but a speed bump on the Malkin-Crosby Expressway.

...If we have Conlin and Fleury playing well like they did the 2nd half of the season..then i dont think there is anything stopping us..Adam Hall is back and is one of the best 4th line centers in the nhl...i would love to see a Pens-habs matchup

Hey Eric... wake up you're dreaming again

I would be pretty nervous with Fluery and Conklin in net. My son is six and plays initiation hockey, and up until now I have brainwashed him to be a Habs fan; however I must admit he loves to wear his Crosby hat and shirt I don't know where I went wrong

Don't underestimate the WILD. They looked pretty good down the stretch and are healthy. Gaborik is playing some of his best hockey. If Backstrom can pull it together I think the WILD could be the underdog that does some damage.

Theyre the darkhorse in the west...If they start playing some defense they would contend for the cup...Gaborik is the fastest player in the league...Cam Jannsen needs to step up

GO PENS!!!
They have so much talent and depth. Their goaltending definitely have their off days but those are usually one and done....back to some decent to great goaltending. With the scoring machines that they have along with the support....Pens all the way.

Yes this is the Pens year--especially with the cap going up 4 million next year---we might have the chance of keeping Mr. Hossa

The Flames fell the the Wild last night 3-1. The Minnesota Wild clinched the division last night with that victory. It reamins to be seen who the Wild will have once the playoffs start, but if Gaborik continues to actually score down the strech I like their chances against anyone but Calgary. Let's face it the Wild are 2-6 against the Flames this season.

I hope for the Wings to make it... but I am VERY afraid of both the Ducks and the Sharks. All three teams are loaded with talent. The East has no shot against the West in the big show... but a Habs / Wings finals would be solid.

I will take the Ducks if the Wild make an early exit. Ryan Carter for the Ducks is from my home town and centered my brother in high school so I will have to pull for the home town kid.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
