Hi there. We’re gonna need a picture and probably some more information to help. Where did you get this shaft? Any history? What is that you’re wanting to identify about it?

Good morning Vinsk

I'm so happy to receive an anwer, i will try to explain the situation.

I bought a set of Ping eye 2 beryllium copper and i want to sell it, but the buyers are asking what kind of shafts are on it.

There is no label and i'm not the original owner. Also there is no serial # on the hosel. So i call Ping and try to explain with the steps , they ask me to remove a grip and look on the shaft if there is letters or numbers and i found BDZJ14 38 50''. They can't identify the shaft.

I also ask Golfworks, but nobody know. So i decided to ask here, maybe somebody can help. Hope it's you HaHa.

I included a picture with the steps. Thank you so much to try to help me.

Sorry for my bad English, i'm a french Canadian!

Bienvenue to The Sand Trap! If Ping and Golfworks don’t know, then it may be hard to ID. Are the step rings painted or a decal?

In fact because i have trouble to take a good picture , i take a black marker to show all the steps, then it's easier to have a better look

Thank you also for your answer.

Maybe a clubmaker here have the same shaft and know what kind it is

I don't know about your particular set. However, PING Eye-2 coppers usually came with Ping ZZ lite shafts.

Those were "usually" the stock steel shaft.

The ZZ lite was slightly lighter, had a stiff tip, and had a pretty high kick point. At least relative to what was out at the time.

I'd suggest just telling the buyer everything you do know. Then see if he/she is still interested. BTW - What kind of condition are they in? Pictures?

If they are in good condition there should be multiple buyers, so if this one is very fussy, you could move on. Those are pretty iconic clubs.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
