  1. 1. How many rounds in the 60s have you shot or whitnessed when you were playing?

    • I can only dream about 60s, shooting it, or knowing people who can
      43
    • Me/A friend lipped out for 69 on the 18th hole once
      2
    • I have only seen/shot it once in my lifetime
      7
    • I can count on one hand the times I have shot/seen sub 70
      22
    • It happens once a season for me
      5
    • It happens once a round for me
      0
    • I only play with people who shoot in the 60s
      2
    • I am tiger woods and feel like i hacked if i shoot above 70

Im just curious about rounds in the 60s, if you have shot sub 70, or whitnessed it happen for a full 18 hole course, no cheating, mulligans, improved lies etc..

I think this is one of the most rare feats in golf!

I have shot 68, 69, and only whitnessed it a handful of times

I've shot in the 60's numerous times, but not nearly as often as I use to. When I played golf in school, it was a lot more commen because I was playing all the time. Your swing gets in a groove, and your feel is a lot sharper than when you just play once or twice a month.

Breaking 70 is a huge accomplishment, and If i keep playing at the rate I do now, and practise harder than I have been, I may be able to do it in about 5-10 years.

I voted count on one hand- that would be my total, I see rounds in the 60s pretty regularly from my friends.

I hate them :)

Some of the lads in college regularly shoot under par - seen a 65 and a 68 on 2 tough championship courses. Seen a couple of 69's at my home course. 72 is my lowest - last September. Going to go sub par next year. In the 60's next year. That's the target.

I played with a gentlemen who shot a 68. It was beautiful to watch. His tempo on every shot seemed to be the same and his putting was incredible.

He gave me some good advice, too.

I shot 3 rounds in the 60's last year all at the same course. 2 of them were 68's but the best one was a 69 in a tournament. So far this year I have shot -1 twice for 9 so I hope to get lower this year.

Last summer I played with a bunch of guys at Wildhorse in Pendelton, OR. The course is pretty nice and fairly easy from the whites, as I shot 78,76,74 for the weekend. One of the guys that I played with shot a 68 one round which was entertaining to watch. I think he had like 8 birdies- it was sick.

Had about 50 playing lessons with an instructor who played alongside me. He always shot 3-6 under par. He also wins the club championship every year. His achilles tendon snapped while playing basketball. After surgery he was back under par again 3 months later.

Unfortunately none of that brilliance rubbed off on me.

I had 4 tournament rounds in the 60's last year 67, 68, 68, 69. I had a few others in casual rounds, maybe a total of 8-9 for the season. I play a bunch but I can only hope for maybe one out of every fifteen scores to be in the 60's. although, with the way I have been playing lately I just hope to break 75.

I dont know if ive posted in this thread or not, but ive broken par 3 times, but once off of winter tees so i dont know if that "counts" or not. The ironic thing is that i didnt hit the ball any better than what I usually do in those rounds, it just sorta happened. But im sure the real reason was i only hit between 23 and 25 putts in each of those rounds. What a difference putting makes. Even if your a strait up hacker, i swear you can break 85 every time you play if you sink putts..

so true, putting is definately the most important in shooting low, no doubt about that.
