Is it possible to shallow your driver and still hit a slice?

I film my driver swings down the line and shalllow the club well.  But my shots tend to slice the majority of the time  I have tried strengthening my grip and closing my stance to promote a more inside/out swing but still have issues with this.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Yes.

I’m in a hotel on my phone right now so I can’t say much but shallowing doesn’t necessarily mean swinging out.

Especially if in shallowing you open the face.

Haven't seen your swing, so this may or may not be your issue. But this video might be applicable. TLDR: get in the slot and close the face, either bowing the front wrist or cupping the back or both. If you're shallowing and swinging square or in to out and but not getting the face closed you'll hit block fades or block slices. If you're hitting slices that start on target then go right then you're swinging significantly out to in. Which means, more or less, you're not getting in the slot even if you're shallowing the club. Nothing prevents you from rotating the shoulders from the top and getting outside the ball with a shallow club, though it's less common than doing it with a steep one.

Thanks Matt.  I actually do have a block slice so will try some more wrist flexion or strengthen the grip a little more.   Used to be a member of the TSG site that provided that video above.   Been a big online golf instruction buff.   Strange thing is, with my irons, I actually have a little bit of a draw.

Great site!  Excited to be a part of it.

It's definitely something I have also struggle with on and off. Based on what you're saying here, it looks like you shouldn't slice on paper, but you still are plagued by a slice. Which means the clubface is open compared to your swing path. Now, because a swing is 1.5-2 seconds long we can't really diagnose and fix a swing in that time, but we can be aware of it if we pay attention to our bodies during the swing.

When you swing your driver, what jumps out to you that you feel in your body the most? Try taking a practice swing with your eyes closed to get a better sense of feel. Are your shoulders tight, do you feel off balance through the swing, is your tempo jumping out to you, does the swing feel mechanical, etc.

Good idea.  Thank you.  I have done some closed-eyes practice swings before, but never with the driver.  I will give this a try.
