I'm going to Las Vegas next month.  I have a round booked at Bali Hai.  Any other recommendations for courses to play?

I've played Angel Park and Reflection Bay. Both were fun. Angel Park was less $.

My bag:

Taylor Made R7 (x-stiff).
Taylor Made Burner 2 irons (stiff)
Cleveland Wedges (gap and 60)
Odyssey two ball putter (white)

All the Pauite courses are great. Coyote Springs is out in the middle of nowhere but a great course. Reflection Bay was nice also. Primm courses were decent, less costly.

I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group.

Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left.

Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

Hey all,

I'm bumping the most recent LV golf thread, as I think answers to mine would be of interest to someone who finds either mine or this thread.   The other threads I found were sufficiently far back I'm not sure how up to date the information would be, especially with changes to the area since those conversations seemed to happen.

In any case, I'm going to be in Las Vegas later this month and, during that trip, I will have time for one [weekday] round.  Las Vegas National, Legacy, and Wildhorse were all recommended to me and are in the general area I'm likely to be.   I'll be playing as a single, I'm not sure if that's relevant (although Wildhorse seems to allow booking as a single, LVN does not seem to without a phone call).

Does anyone here have an opinion on those three courses, and/or another one in that general area you'd recommend?  My ideal would somewhere I could have fun as a 15 handicap with memories of being better and a course that does a good job keeping (drinkable) water available on the course (as I tend to drink a lot of water when I play).

Unfortunately I haven't played any of those.  But Desert Pines is close to Las Vegas National and I liked that one.  I'm typically not a fan of Dye courses, but that one was pretty good.  I also liked the 2 courses at Angel Park, which isn't far from LVN either.

Thank you!  I'll give those a look.  I am a fan of Dye courses... well, the two I've played in the greater Palm Springs area at least.   Looks to be a reasonable price, too.  Thanks so much!
